what are we supossed to do when gaga stans ALWAYS drag beyonce in every single thread they make about her?

the hating is real and you always are preaching how twitter is so toxic but you all here are the same with some artists :spin:

the article is shady asf. its true that alive didnt make a higher jump on itunes but it was in the top 50 and the performance on youtube had 2.5+ millions views after 24 hour but yet you all decided to quote a shady article where they said nice things about gaga :fail:

i will not remain silent in threads like this and you all can stay mad and laugh react me all you want :dom:

And they made a big a$$ campaign for ASIB along with the whole “100 people in the room” speech

meanwhile is reported beyonce never did any campaign for the oscars and probably was like “oh shi* im nominated, now i gotta perform this *sigh* oh well” :ally:

meanwhile it took gaga one movie to snag a best actress nomination whilst beyonce... :bradley:

mother, what must i do?

Well I'm just waiting for her next solo album. I'm sure other people feel the same way.

I was watching it live with a big Beyonce fan. As she said bluntly: The song is just boring.

I think the performance was amazing. But, yeah. It's just a dull song. No melody. I'm not surprised.

why would she aim for an oscar when they have a history of not so diverse with their nominations? do i have to remind you the oscar so white controversy? most of her nominations for dreamgirls were from black awards and the year the movie got nominations (on the oscars), the best actress category was full of white people :iamfair:

edit: the other two movies she was were subpar and made by her own company, so

I mean, it wasn't exceptional, I don't know what to say to people... She's not as great as people say she is, I'm sorry it's just how I've felt for a long time. She's had exceptional performances, undeniable, she's a great performer though, but song wise, it could be better

if she really wanted to continue her actress career she wouldn't jump out of the A Star Is Born project directed by Clint Eastwood (who waited for her after giving birth, but instead she decided to go on tour and making music in the process aka Selftitled) but okay

+ the audience dropped in 60% after beyonce's performance

Yeah exactly, why would she aim for an oscar when she couldn't even handle voice acting :billie:

I don't think Beyonce has that star power most people think she has, I haven't heard one of her songs on the radio in years.

Now, even I wasn't expecting that. I'd really like to know what it was that caused the public to move on so much after Lemonade. I get it, fans want to hear Beyonce completely solo and therefore weren't interested in a collab album with Jay (many said they only saw OTR to see her set) or a massive collab album with various artists that wasn't even an official soundtrack but was apparently tied into The Lion King. But that doesn't negate the fact that her solo stuff isn't hitting. Her singles post-Lemonade (Spirit, Brown Skin Girl, Black Parade, Be Alive) have charted nowhere near the top 10, to say the least. Black Parade only just scraped the top 40. It's easy to forget that her last top ten hit was Formation, in 2016. And her last solo #1 (Perfect Duet and Savage don't count, those songs were complete before she got involved) was Singles Ladies in 2009. If any other popstar had a track record like this, they'd be cited as done. We really need to stop giving Beyonce a pass. It matters not that she chose to step outside the traditional "2 singles pre-album followed by album release and then a few more singles with promo throughout" system. It's clear at this point, after doing complete album drops since 2013 that she does this to give herself a free pass to underperform if/when it happens. I really don't think it's fair that she should be held to a different standard that she chose for herself after 4 not getting any top ten hits in the US clearly spooked her. I'm just telling it like it is. Beyonce has a lot of fans, devoted ones at that. When her work, even when it consists of stand-alone singles that cost less than $1 to download (and free to stream) isn't even being supported by her fanbase, this is an issue.

I knew Beyonce's marketing strategy of being an untouchable goddess was going to backfire one day, but now it's happening, it's stunning even me. It's going to be very interesting to see how she releases this next album, if it will be another visual album, what genre it'll be, the themes of it, if she'll promote it heavily, if she'll have it released to all platforms, if she'll do an image revamp. Because her underperformance for the last few years should be cause of alarm to her entire team and if performing at the Oscars but not getting a massive song boost afterwards isn't a wake-up call, I don't know what is.

While I think the academy allowing her to present the Best Picture winner was likely a massive consolation prize and a subtle message of "we didn't intentionally snub you, it's just it came right down to the wire and if there were 6 nomination slots, you'd be there," we have every reason to believe she was snubbed. She was the only actress who managed to get nominated at all of the big 4 awards pre-Oscars (Olivia, Jessica and Nicole got 3, Kristen got 2 and Penelope got none). You can see why Gaga fans were rightfully disappointed. And as for the movie being subpar and how that didn't help - most of the best acting nominees are from movies with mixed receptions. It seems to be the case more often than not that the best acting tends to come from films where acting was the best part of it. Basically all the nominees were from mixed reception movies this year. The award focuses on the acting, not in how good your movie was. We don't just defend Gaga because we're fans, we have solid reasoning behind the way we feel.
