I know this will be controversial, but the main reason Will Smith is not being sanctioned by the Academy is their fear of making it a race issue.

harvey weinstein has oscar’s, amongst many others. if they take away will smith’s, it opens up a can of worms. 

i did NOT like the standing ovation, but a man who has been known for decades as a legend and a nice guy does not deserve his life to be ruined over one mistake in the heat of the moment on a sore subject

My point is, the entire video is white people clutching their pearls at the “angry black man” and defending Chris Rock, not one person has any concern for how Jada felt being humiliated in front of the whole world. It’s just very very telling. 

It’s not. Why is is it so hard for people like you to see that the only issue is - words don’t warrant one way physical assault. Its. That. simple. People like you reach as hard as possible to make it a race issue, and even involved white people. White people don’t have to be involved in everything lol. It’s weirdly obsessive.

I've hated Chris Rock for years  the man routinely takes the piss out of people I like, including MJ, and I take that personally

I never said it warranted assault. Learn how to read. 

Race has very much to do with the reactions that are taking place. You would think that Will Smith got up on stage, punched Chris with all of his strength and proceeded to beat him to a pulp while he laid helpless. It was a slap. People are talking about the “anger” Will had and how it was disturbing. He was being protective of his wife and ****ed up, but he is not some violent animal. People are talking about how he set black people back who have struggled for inclusion at the Oscars. And saying “this is why more black people aren’t invited.” People have ignored Jada in all this, even blaming her. People don’t give a **** that a black woman was disrespected. It is about race whether you like it or not.

And I know you historically deny that anything is about race, so I’m not surprised to see that response from you. Your thinking is whitewashed.
