I took back this comment a few pages ago, it was wrong of me to make a assumption  with no evidence. I believe Jada said or did something that resulted in Will going from laughter to anger but I really have no evidence to back that up.

My post was to point out how directly a woman's hair affect their identity and feminity. It's not the same thing as say a woman and a man not liking their nose and getting a rhinoplasty or being overweight and getting a gastric bypass. There is a genuine difference. IMO.

Unfortunately thanks to our society women don't view their hair loss as just cosmetic. They view it as a loss of their feminity. 

Most of this user's comments before this one said Jada's hair loss is purely cosmetic. That she is rich and beautiful and she should get over it. 

I'm not dismissing his struggle, he is dismissing Jada's struggle.

Don't bother responding it's just a group of trolls now. People made excellent points on both sides before. Now its just the, "it's her fault," or "buy a wig," people.

What's interesting is that all the people defending Chris Rock saying "its just hair" or "its just words/a joke" - would you say the same thing if a joke was made about a black person's weave or cornrolls? Does anyone remember Don Imus' "nappy headed hoes" joke controversy? There are a million other things and hundreds of other people in the audience Chris could've made jokes about -- but he targeted a couple he already had beef with because he thought he was untouchable (in this case, quite literally).

This is yet another example of double standards at play. The woke crowd chose to make society be this sensitive -- now own up to the consequences and stop selectively applying judgement.

Chris Rock was wrong, and if Will Smith is going to face consequences Chris Rock should face consequences as well.  Jada was not there to be roasted, she was just part of the audience yet Chris singled her out.  That's just plain wrong.

consequences then so should 90% of all comedians as rocks joke was quite mild. Being compared to Demi Moore would be a dream for most humans. Also Will Smith committed a crime, Rock didn’t.

That is chilling body language from Jada. Her gaze doesn't move from Chris, except to laugh about him getting slapped. Not once does she look to Will in embarrassment, outrage, or even agreement. That's wild.

I didn't say Will Smith wasn't wrong.  Of course he was wrong for slapping Chris Rock.  But given that Chris singled out his wife, Will had every right to go up on stage and give it to Chris verbally.   Good for Will for defending his wife!  The only problem was the slap.

The joke was cringeworthy and inappropriate, but Will's reaction was 1000% over the top, and feels almost premeditated. I feel like his acceptance speech was probably already planned, so he thought quick in the moment to create a viral scene that would keep his name in everyone's mouths. I think both Jada and Will are massive narcissists with giant egos who have both said and done very toxic things in the past. So I don't agree with people seeing them as these defenseless victims. I'm not engaging in the whole race/black women's hair aspect of this argument, the fact that Will Smith assaulted someone on tv and got away with it is unacceptable. Especially after they both initially laughed. It was like in that split moment, there was a silent communication between Jada and Will that he needed to do something to make a scene. Both men were in the wrong, but Will much more so. You can get emotional about the racial/sexist/ableist implications all you want, when it comes down to it, Smith's actions were completely wrong.
