???? Which rappers talked about soy latte and yoga and pilates and their lawyers and managers and gardeners and stylists over and over again? Come on now, she was OBVIOUSLY talking about herself and her own life here.

Ostentation in rap is a thing?

I don't know how to write in english

It wasn't quite as much about satire as it was about her mocking low effort rappers (not the really good ones) who only talk about the same trivial stuff over and over again.

Has she ever actually said this or is this a consensus fans have come to? She seems too mindful of a person to be the type to mock and finger-wag at “low effort rappers” (especially considering she now has a few “low effort” collabs with different rappers...and a song called b*tch I'm madonna…talk about low effort) How does a low effort rapper differ from a good one? Does a rapper need to talk about important issues to be considered good? And why do you think she felt that distinction was something to parody in her own music?

Well this is generally considered to be before she started working with people that would guarantee hits, so for this part of her career it made more sense.

Mainly because she was critiquing issues that she found with America at the time.

Rappers (or the content of their art) being part of the issue with America at the time (While madonna herself at this point already had a plethora of vapid music too)? Interesting.

She is specifically talking about rappers that are repeating the same trivial stuff. Plus, it is universally recognized that she was more mature at this point in her career.

Trivial? She has largely been singing about sex for 40 years. Before this and after it. Lol. But yeah, rappers are the problem!

Gaslighting me won't work. Also, sex, from the perspective of women who receive misogyny over their bodies, is an important statements to make. A Cher fan (the woman who made waves by showing her body in outfits in the 70s and 80s) should know this.

Before this, on Like A Prayer to Music, sure, but American Life has a whooole lot of lyrical clunkers, especially compared to the aforementioned album content.

This album and single lost a lot of good faith with her from fans and the GP because it just sounded stupid sometimes. Maybe you can claim the "ironic" angle on a few songs, but when it's a common thread on the album, that argument loses its weight.

Great, because there’s a difference between gaslighting and pointing out flawed reasoning.

And this justifies mocking whatever rappers choose to rap about? LOL. Sex is fine, but women have lot more pressing issues than whether or not they can show their belly buttons on television now.

She still has the experimental and mature crowds with her on this album. You're thinking of Hard Candy.

If you are going to continue with attacking my opinions, then there is no point in talking with you anymore. Have a nice day.
