What are your unpopular opinions regarding this era. :partysick:

Mines:

- 2011 VMA’s were the worst promo spot of the era. Not a fan of the Jo Calderon look. :smh:

- Marry the Night MV is too long :samanthac:

1. MarryThe Night deserved the first single treatment.

2. TEOG video is very good. Simple and beautiful.

3. Judas is not very good

4. It deserves a new chapter...I know it's not unpopular, but it's her best record and her most ambitious.

I was the most scared of Gaga during BTW. I was a kid and it felt like she was out of a horror film at the time to me:laughga:

The prosthetics, skeleton makeup, religious imagery, etc… NIGHTMARES

Marry The Night is extremely overrated among the fanbase. Its commercial performance was deserved

Fashion of His Love and The Queen are criminally underrated.

Edit - also don't get me started on Black Jesus † Amen Fashion.

The Queen is overrated….

It most displays how Gaga shifted to writing songs hyperconscious of the audience during this era (title track also guilty), instead of from an honest artistic place.

All of the music videos either had a couple of cheap scenes/edits/directions or looked flat-out cheap like Judas (minus a few scenes) and You&I. It was something about the camerawork and color filters. TFM videos were just too high a competitor to outperform.

Judas: iconic controversy and incredible lyrics, that's it.

Everything felt too loud all together, there was no balance. Sometimes I wonder if that's simply the spirit of Born This Way or if she was still finding her footing (era not the music, I thoroughly enjoy the album and think it has no bad songs).

Her most (realistically) experimental era/album and it was so much fun going though it and experiencing it in real life regardless of the highs and lows. She really paid attention to every aspect of the album and gave it the right amount of love.

FAME perfume commercial is a creative collaboration done right. Not unpopular, I know.

The fashion was all over the place and sometimes unbearable.
