Becky G & Luis Fonsi to join ‘Encanto’ cast for Oscars performance

Becky G and Luis Fonsi will join five members of the Encanto cast — Adassa, Stephanie Beatriz, Mauro Castillo, Carolina Gaitán and Diane Guerrero – to perform “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” at the 2022 Oscars on Sunday.

This will be the first live performance of the song, which logged five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, longer than any other song so far this year. It was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is nominated for best original song for another Encanto song, “Dos Oruguitas.”

So odd that they're singing We don't talk about Bruno and not Dos Oruguitas, which is the actually nominated song. I know WDTAB is more popular, but still... This is the Oscars, they should do the nominated song.

They said Dos Orugitas represents the essence of the film better. If you ask me, thats just a way to sell it but in reality they just had no idea WDTAB would become so massive and basically ****ed up the submissions.

The deadline for submissions to the Academy was 1 November 2021. WDTAB became popular on streaming services around 26 December 2021. Lin-Manuel Miranda said that “Dos Oruguitas” the best exemplifies the spirit of the movie.
