lmao she's crazy obviously but this part:

"The pair hit the studio and Heidi recorded the song Fashion, which RedOne produced and Lady Gaga wrote.'He was like, "I just need to get the consent of the writer." And so I just thought Lady Gaga was a writer, because she was a writer on the song,' Heidi said.

'And he was like, "Hey, I'm gonna cut Fashion with Heidi. I have her in the studio, she loves it." And [Gaga's] like, "Great. Sure, she can have that song." 'So then I recorded it and it was my song. That was the impression I was under.'

Having recorded Fashion with RedOne, Heidi then used the dance-pop track during an appearance on The View to promote her clothing line. But after it was featured on the daytime talk show, Heidi claims Gaga took the song back to record herself for the soundtrack to 2009 film Confessions of a Shopaholic.'It's hard because people are like, "I love Lady Gaga!" And I'm like, "I'm sure she's great but I have not had the best encounter with her,"' she said.

Really sounds like a RedOne problem tbh

For how long this girl has been in Hollywood she is super naive to how the industry works. Unless she was the writer or unless she had a label contract specifically for the track she can't blame gaga, the creator always has seniority and honestly even they don't have control either. My guess the label is the one who ****ed her over. It's always the label lol

Heidi's version tho... it's a disaster. whatever happened, Gaga just did the right thing to do in the name of music.

She prohibited RedOne from working with Madonna and Britney at the time tho :laughga:

But isn't that fairly typical for a singer to want the same producer to work with them rather than someone similar with a similar sound? I swear I read something along the lines of Beyonce doing the same a while back and I'm pretty sure Madonna did the same thing back in the day. H*ll, some of the issues with Jack Antonoff are because he's spread so thin between multiple artists at this point....

At the end of the day, Gaga had songwriting credits too...so she has a voice in who gets to sing a song she wrote. If she didn't like Heidi's version, she had every right to say "no, I don't like it, that can't be released" unless Heidi had legal permission beforehand. If Heidi was so hung up on this, she needed to write songs herself.

Yup. That said, if Gaga heard the song and went "oh god, that's awful"...that was Gaga's right and Heidi is super dumb for not recognizing that as a songwriter Gaga had permission (unless a legal agreement was made beforehand).

I mean yea fair enough but still it’s kinda unfair to the producer to limit him like that. I’m 100% sure she changed her ways but I’m not really a fan of that behaviour no matter who it comes from.
Also Gaga probably hated her version (as we all do honestly) so she decided not to give her that song.
