Elon Musk, who runs Tesla and SpaceX, has sold the seven homes he owned in California to fulfil his promise to “own no house”.
 

The properties — which include mansions in Bel Air, one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in Los Angeles — sold for about $128 million, giving him a profit of about $25 million.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, 50, is now residing in a small rental home near his aerospace company in Boca Chica, Texas.

The move comes just days after his former partner Grimes claimed Musk led a minimalistic life, "lives in a very insecure $40,000 house" and at times "lives below the poverty line".

It’s one thing to be humble and not live in excess when you have the means to. It’s completely different to do this, which is effectively “playing poor” for display. It’s almost worse than flexing your wealth. Like imagine intentionally living “below poverty level” for the sole purpose of publicizing it. It’s nothing more than a gimmick to make him feel more “relatable” to his sheep followers who kiss the ground he walks on. No one cares that your goal is to own no house or physical possessions. Stop making living with nothing sound like a game. You’re being weird.
