Did anyone else watch this?

It was the first movie I saw in theatres after 2 years, and I am speechless right now. It's a masterpiece - An easy 10/10

3 hours long but it went by so fast. They really set the stage for what will be an iconic movie series.

Major props to the cinematographers for capturing the dark, eerie atmosphere that made Gotham feel so alive and scary.

The scene in the beginning where emo Bruce is riding his motorcycle in Gotham and "Something in the Way" by Nirvana started to play sent shivers down my spine.

I am contemplating seeing it again soon and I strongly suggest you go watch it too. :classy:

Mindblown

It's the first movie I've ever got annoyed at for being too long. The movie could've easily ended an hour before it did but they just kept going. I wasn't immersed in the story and it felt like they noticeably trying hard to be different and artistic with the movie. Some people really seem to like it tho.

Like others here, the movie dragged on for way too long.

I found myself getting bored 1/4 of the way in and thinking about what I'd be getting for dinner afterward, then getting annoyed that the movie kept going and going and going and going...

BUT, I will say that superhero films and action films as a whole are not usually a genre I enjoy anyway. But my boyfriend and roommate (who are fans of those types of movies) also hated it.

I'm happy you enjoyed it OP! It just wasn't for me. :fatcat:

I agree that it seemed too long. I felt bad to feel somewhat bored, or thinking 'Ok, now it's gotta be over.... oh, nope, more scenes." two or three different times. I mean, I liked it, but if I had to compare it to the first one of the Dark Knight series, I enjoyed DK a lot more. I'm not a big superhero fan either and I don't know if it is fair to compare them, but it's the last series before this one so I guess my mind wants to compare them lol.

This thread makes me think I need to see it myself and decide if it's too long or not! :yay:

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I saw this movie in mx4d seats where the chairs were moving and smoke and flashing lights in the theater will come out during gun fight scenes and not even that novel experience made it bearable for 3 hrs. It was too long. If it was 2 hrs and a half then it would be way better.

This Batman was like Edward Cullen becoming Batman.

It was enjoyable mind you, but i found myself looking at my watch far too much. I give it a 7 cause it was far too long but the story was good.

My only complain was the duration. Too long. But a blockbuster movie being 3 hours is a common right now. What happened to 1:30 movies... haha.

Ofcourse y’all think the movie is too long

You’re the reason pop songs are about as long as an iTunes preview now :iamfair:

Blockbuster movies haven’t been squarely 2.5 hours or less for years. And people complained about the length then, too. I think we can all just admit that our attention spans have been fried and move on with it lmao

Personally, I felt like the movie was pretty well-paced. I think they probably could have cut maybe 10-20 minutes of extraneous footage here and there (like the villain tease at the end), but that would be more to keep the story cleaner. I loved the rest of it and how they aimed to do something different than the other Batman films before which is hard given that there’s so many. But it never felt, to me, like they were try-hard. Their story necessitated the tone and interpretations they had (especially of Batman himself).

The ending *almost* didn’t land for me but I don’t mind where they took things. The rest of the film really worked for me.

The movie is super good. I am glad this is so. And Battinson is one of the best Batman.  :applause:

Can't believe some people hating it before it was even released back then just because of Pattinson:lmao:
