There’s an article that came out today saying he was FALSELY accused.

yes he was trying to be very discreet and he handed the cashier a note instead of talking, to give him 12k in cash and the lady found it weird and called security

I used to work as a teller so I will give some input.

We were told that robbers would make a note and slide it to us asking for cash, in a very secret way. Unfortunately, the way he did it may have scared the teller, who also mentioned he was being a bit uncooperative. When I worked at the bank, I don't care who you are, if you are being suspicious or not talking to us properly with large transactions, we will 100% be extra cautious.

At the same time though, the dude did put his card in (verified his pin) and gave her ID. Apparently she was too scared to verify the ID...

If someone came and wanted even $50k in cash (and I have done that), as long as we verify the ID and they put the right pin, we will give them the cash.

I'm not sure if this a case of racism honestly. More like the teller seems inexperienced and freaked out. She was pregnant when this happened too so it could be possible her hormones were making her act up.

Its hard to comment on this without seeing the reactions, gestures, tone of voice etc.

From the limited info sounds like she was being too cautious and jumped to conclusions too quick

Anytime u want to do transactions in cash involving large amounts of money tho i guess u always have to whatch how u go about it. It always raises some eye brows no matter what so u dont wanna act sus

Also unclear if this was a major factor but if the tellar had racist prejudices that someone who is black is more likely to be a robber im sure it also contributed to her suspicions vs if a white person behaved the same way

He probably didn't want people to know he was withdrawing that much cash. I've withdrawn obviously not that much but if it's over a couple hundred to 1k I am super quiet about it and I act super weird. Mostly because I don't want to get mugged outside or be followed with that much money.

I get the actions are weird but if he had and presented all his id, why was he arrested? Why go that far?

This seems dramatic, also in racist america I always have my suspicions, people dial 911 when they see brown or black people around them, a lot of weirdos...

To be fair to the person that commented, the title says he was arrested.

Nobody mentioned anything about being detained and not arrested. Most people don't even know the difference, and much less so when OP doesn't have the correct title. If the user is on mobile, all they see in terms of video title is "Bodycam shows 'Black Panther...".

Thank you. There isn't much difference in one scenario you are charged in the other you are suspected of a crime. You are still handcuffed and placed inside a police car which by the way has been a death sentence for black men. They don't even get to a police station most times.
