RACIST ‘Vogue’ Erases “Palestine” From Instagram Post About Gigi Hadid

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Gigi Hadid posted that she would be donating her earnings from Fashion Month to Ukranian and Palestinian causes, stating, “I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”

Vogue covered Hadid’s announcement in an article titled “Gigi Hadid Is Donating Her Fashion Month Earnings to Ukrainian Relief,” which quoted her caption almost in full. Vogue promoted the article on its official Instagram with a post whose caption originally started as follows:

Today, @Gigihadid announced that she will be donating all of her fashion month earnings towards relief efforts in Ukraine, “as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”

A day after the photo was posted, its caption was edited to omit the quote from Hadid’s original statement mentioning Palestine. Beyond Instagram, the actual Vogue story was also edited to remove one of the two original instances of Palestine being mentioned — specifically a quote of the final line of Hadid’s post, reading “HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE.”

I absolutely wonder why nobody is talking about cancelling a racist major publication for deliberately removing the word Palestine from an article and social media posts about a Palestinian model donating earnings to Palestine.

Palestine matters and Palestinian lives matter. This is why Palestine needs to be talked about. There are people out there literally trying to remove it from existence. Outrageous!

There's no doubt about that. The 'double standards' mentality is a huge problem. If Racist Vogue did this to any race or a group of people, the backlash would be everywhere and there'd be those pretentious celebrities calling to boycott the publication. But since it's Palestine, it doesn't matter that much, sadly.

I was confused for a while because the two posts are totally different so I was going to say it's not only the Palestine bit that was removed, it's everything, but then I saw that the first one is her post from her personal account. What would have been interesting is a screenshot from the original Vogue post.

Yes I meant two screenshots to compare because right now it looks like Gigi's post and Vogue's post are being compared when the content is totally different in the first place, which is why I got confused

They had the word Palestine in their original post. They only removed it after facing immense backlash from their readers in the comments section. The entire comments section is filled with people that are angry at Vogue comparing Palestine with Ukraine.

I'm not a fan of comparisons but if you're a Ukrainian and you think it's your absolute right to defend your property with whatever mean you have, and you get hailed for it, and the world supports you, and imposes sanctions against the power occupying you; why isn't the world doing the same for Palestinians who are also defending their lands and properties against the Israeli occupation? It took the world like a few days to condemn Russia, impose sanctions on it and boycott policies as well, but the Palestinians have been under military occupation by Israel and its racist, apartheid regime for more than +70 years yet no country is brave to condemn what's happening or take a serious action to put an end to the human rights violations that occur in the Palestinian territories.

It's the Palestinians who keep getting the sh*t.

Dude, Palestinians get called terrorists for merely throwing stones at a nuclear-backed super power state.

No Palestine get swallowed up by Israel that's way more powerful, Palestinians are not the invaders, they're the one who just want to live in some land left to them.
