From what I have read and researched, yes for a short amount of time like if you need to go change/freshen up, use the restroom, or go get food. The idea is you do not lose your spot in line. Of course you will be able to leave (but let people around you know) to use the restroom, grab drinks and food (to bring back and eat while you're in line), but you can't leave for hours. We took a wonder round but only found a queue for the merch truck, are we supposed to be waiting there? From what I understand it has to be short periods of time and not frequent. You have to spend most of the day actually there in line or you will lose your spot.
