Tyler1992 2,269 Posted March 6, 2022 Share Posted March 6, 2022 I’m totally over it. There were WAY more than 5 deserving actresses this year, Gaga not getting in is by far the end of the world. She got CCA, BAFTA, & SAG (like the Academy, SAG is peer recognized, just as important) recognition. Also, her Oscar narrative needs time to develop, to much front-loaded acclaim could spell disaster. I don’t want her to have to run the hatha-hate gauntlet when audiences turn on her. Still think this + Denis Villeneuve not being nominated is a travesty, but whatever. Add this to the long list of times the Oscars got things wrong. It's nothing personal, just a small democracy where people vote for their friends. It definitely wasn’t intentional.
