Not The Real Gaga 7,545
We are at the verge of WO III, but let's keep whining about Gaga not getting nominated for an industry award for her second movie Why

elijahfan 26,311
I don't think the snub was intentional, and inviting her is making it really obvious. Still think this + Denis Villeneuve not being nominated is a travesty, but whatever. Add this to the long list of times the Oscars got things wrong. It's nothing personal, just a small democracy where people vote for their friends.
LG2008 5,320
I just don't care, tbh If she gets a nom, amazing. If she wins, amazing too. If she doesn't, she's already an Oscar winner... She'll get more noms in the future. This was an amazing role but the movie wasn't THAT good. It was fun but that's it. She'll deliver more amazing performances

StrawberryBlond 14,885
I'm still unsure if it was a true snub or not, so I'm remaining on the fence. I like to think that if there were 6 actress slots, she would've been nominated, I have the feeling it came right down to the wire. The vast array of opinions in who was best actress this year has ensured there is no clear cut winner so it's natural that she'd miss out on a few nominations here and there. I mean, look at the BAFTAs wildly different take on who was the best of the year - only one out of the big 5 names (Gaga, Kristen, Olivia, Jessica, Nicole) made the cut and the Oscars had a 100% different opinion. Opinions just ranged far and wide, this year, that seemed like the biggest factor. But if she pulls out another showstopper of a performance further down the line and the same thing happens again, well, then I'll let them have it. 7 hours ago, Sugar Baby said: Yes people do the most no one gets nominated for an Oscar with every single movie they make it’s not realistic I'm not asking her to get nominated for every movie she makes but if the acting is good enough, then I see no reason why not. Also, maybe I'm just massively out of the loop, but up until fairly recently, Gaga's and Kristen's performances were the only ones I heard anyone having any buzz about all year. With that in mind, I'm baffled as to where all this apparent competition has come from and why the Oscars seem to have almost completely snubbed her despite her always pulling in so many ratings and positive promo for them in the past. After how much they've clearly loved her, I thought they'd be jumping at the chance to nominate her again and pull in more ratings especially at a time when award shows are deemed superfluous. 7 hours ago, Dennis said: No if her name was not Lady Gaga, she would've been nominated. They punished her for being a popstar. I did wonder that myself. Couldn't help pondering if the academy thought ASIB was just a fluke one-off good performance by a singer playing a singer but her doing another movie where she didn't sing at all now proved she was serious with this acting gig and there's a sense in the acting world of wanting outsiders to stay in their lane. I have the feeling they want to give her the award deep down but they're testing her to see how serious she is with this acting thing and make her work for it first.
