Look at her old looks form no doubt, she’s had some super iconic looks and she did every single makeup look herself. She didn’t have a makeup artist to create them all. She had help here and there (only really during LAMB and TSE) but everything she did was her idea. Honestly, Gwen is one of the few celebrities for whom it makes sense to launch a makeup line. She really has been doing her own makeup for a long time, and one of her first jobs was working the makeup counter at a department store in Anaheim. And she's had previous collabs with Revlon, OPI, and Urban Decay––her Urban Decay collab was fabulous. Those eye shadows were the sh*t. It's not just lip service. You can listen to her talk about her background with makeup on the Fat Mascara podcast: Her products look high-quality and aren't outrageously priced, and she's already putting out video tutorials. I also like that you can buy them from Sephora and Kohl's, which means you can try them out in person (cough, Haus Labs). Two of my friends were outside in the parking lot where yesterday's launch happened, and she came out to greet fans briefly. The launch event was small and intimate, and took place at the Italian restaurant where her parents had their first date. She even gave a small concert where she did acoustic performances of "Underneath It All," "Just a Girl," and "Hollaback Girl." (You can see snippets on her stories and the stories of the restaurant, Mama Cozza's) GXVE is sending me something in the mail –– no idea what it is, but they DMed me on social media –– and I've ordered a few products from Sephora and the website. What I'm most excited about is the lipstick, since she's known for her signature red look. I have high hopes, but the products will speak for themselves.
