Oriane 20,918
Hopefully that's something her label is pushing her to do and she'll be out of there in the future, just like it took Gaga years to refuse projects. It also affects animal’s natural habitats as a part of the environmental change 26 minutes ago, NATAH said: "Take “Space Cat,” an NFT that’s basically a GIF of a cat in a rocket heading to the Moon. Space Cat’s carbon footprint is equivalent to an EU resident’s electricity usage for two months, according to the website cryptoart.wtf. That website used to let people click through the estimated greenhouse gas emissions associated with individual NFTs until creator Memo Akten took it down on March 12th. Akten, a digital artist, had analyzed 18,000 NFTs and found that the average NFT has a carbon footprint somewhat lower than Space Cat’s but still equivalent to more than a month’s worth of electricity for a person living in the EU." https://www.theverge.com/2021/3/15/22328203/nft-cryptoart-ethereum-blockchain-climate-change i'm shooketh ngl

Like why does it use so many environmental resources? because they are mostly bought and sold using cryptocurrency, which uses HUGE amounts of energy. It uses so much electricity on purpose to make the process of "mining" it difficult so that the currency "has value". NFTs being such a craze right now (I mean, a scam, but you know...), encourage more and more people to get into crypto, just making the environmental impact worse. ActualPatient 1,672
Y'all are acting so judgemental so quickly. There will be a point in time where NFTs have little environmental impact because in it's the pipeline for blockchains like Ethereum. It could be she's saving her seat for when the right time comes. I hate this mob mentality versus things you don't really understand. smh. Educate yourself. Not just because it's cool today to be dogpiling on anything NFT related doesn't mean it can't be viable in the future. I hope y'all don't have any semblance of hypocrisy when you so vehemently speak against blockchain technology. I must say though that the timing isn't the best because it could be seen as an endorsement for the current dirty NFT minting process and also put less educated people into situations where they can be rugpulled.
