There was a tweet I saw that summed it up;

If you like Pokemon then I think it's worth it, but it depends on your tolerance for performance because it really isn't that great and that's not been exaggerated on twitter - you do eventually get over it but its very sluggish at times... despite that, I'm having a lot of fun and the story is certainly one of better in recent games imo. It's so easy to sink lots of hours into just exploring which is probably why Its the longest I've ever taken in an Pokemon game and don't feel the urgency to rush through it and "beat" the game.

Okay this was helpful! Funny enough I liked Shield more than I liked Arceus. Would you say this game is more comparable to the former?

Its definitely closer to Shield than Arceus.

I'm having so much fun exploring everything. The game reminds me of Digimon World 1 (from ps1, and that 1999 game looked much better ) which is a good thing IMO. 

Do you think they will patch the game or is it something they don't really do?

Even with the glitches and bugs… this is the best Pokémon game in years. Totally a move in the right direction for the series!

I agree! I havent had such fun leveling my pokemon, exploring places and being invested in a storyline in years!

I haven't played for couple days because I'm trying to space it out a bit  Despite Dexit I feel there is a huge variety of Pokemon and that'll give the game huge replayability and potential for all kinds of challenges (especially bird-only, where you could probably get six diff flying cross-types for your squad that have every counter imaginable)

Same! I love how they eased up on the hand holding-ness, linear progression, and excessive cut-scenes and just made it about exploration and gameplay first and foremost.

I actually think the graphics are fine but It's the optimization that's criminal. I literally want the entire community to sue GF for it. Also I haven't had too many bugs other than the game crashing on me once thankfully. They better fix this amongst many other things within the next patch. Another studio should take over the development of these games.

Also! Evolving Bisharp was so much fun! Thank god they make evolutions more interesting and the great part is that these methods makes sense. The way and area which you evolve Bisharp at is very fitting too, dominating other Bisharp pack leaders in a bamboo forest. 

And the music!!! Holy **** is it amazing or what? E4, Team star, Star boss battle and the champion theme and the legendary theme?? Like hello? Slay????

I just finished the game and OH… MY… GOD…. 
 

That was a tragically beautiful ending. The plot during the last 2-2:5hrs of gameplay was PHENOMENAL. The music, the twists, the POKÉMON!!!! I’m not being dramatic but I did get watery eyed. Not because I was happy for the gameplay, but because the story actually moved me emotionally and brought back some trauma from my own personal childhood. 
 

definitely one of the best main series games.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the game and you definitely hyped me up even more now (to me the game is excellent, aside from the bugs etc.) I‘m trying not to finish it too quickly, because I will miss playing it and leveling up my Pokemon..
