Zander 14,857 Posted June 1, 2022 Share Posted June 1, 2022 (edited) It's a shame that from what I can see that it appears the catching mechanics from Legends isn't featuring and its back to the old way which is a lil disappointing for me. I loved the fast and seamless way of catching without going through an encounter screen every time if you didn't want to battle... feels a bit of step back for me but I will hold reservation until they show more. The textures look a little crunchy (but I don't have my expectations high for that), and that tackle animation not connecting is a bit sad to see after the upgrade in PLA. You can see the trainers running past Pokémon without combat being initiated, like the Toxapex at 1:48. All the other combat could've been initiated in the same way as in Legends Arceus - by throwing one of your own Pokémon at them. Also, the website describes the "rival", Nemona, as follows: "She has undisputed skill in battle—though it does also seem that she’s not the best at throwing Poké Balls." That last part still gives me a bit of hope, but it could just be flavor text. Quaxly almost looks photoshopped in the first image he's so big.
