Maria Zakharova held a press conference on Friday and reflected on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the intentions of Russia going forward. A clip of her speech has begun to go viral on social media as she appears to issue a threat aimed at Sweden and Finland, saying it would have "serious military-political repercussions." The video has amassed over 300,000 views. "Finland and Sweden should not base their security damaging the security of other countries," Zakharova said during the press conference. "Clearly [the] accession of Finland and Sweden into NATO, which is first and foremost a military alliance, would have serious military-political repercussions that would demand a response from our country," she said. This comes after Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the country was receiving support from both nations. "Discussed with [Finnish President Sauli Niinistö] countering the aggressor. I'm tired of this world being ran by a few men who decide about your future. This is just not working, now we gotta deal with mentally unstable people with evil in them who wanna explode things left and right. We got another bloated mess in North Korea being bored as **** in his prison/country. So tired of it, it's not working it shouldn't be this way. The people should be in power in some ways not a man. Canada has 3,400 military personnel to deploy if necessary, our National Defence minister said. I really hope it won't get to that point, but if it does, the Ukraine and countries alike need to be protected. Russia needs big structural change. A lot of people argue that NATO provoked Russia, but honestly, Putin had a choice not to do this. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time. Putin has made it very clear he wants to reestablish the borders of old. You don't have to read between the lines; he said as much. He wants what he sees as his territory back, and I think he has a very generous view of what he believes is Soviet/Russian territory. So if you think he's going to stop with Ukraine, you're just as naïve as the people who thought he would stop with the Donbass. And if you think being a NATO member or not will save you, it won't. He is going to keep pushing, and we need to be ready for the sake of Europe and for the sake of the liberal world order. If you are any nation in Eastern Europe, trouble is at your door. Then the second Russia steps foot across their border, the US and every other nation gets involved and it'll be over quickly tbh. We just have to pray that doesn't happen after 2024 if Biden isn't reelected or another Democrat doesn't take his place. I don't have faith in a GOP president siding with our allies against Putin. For another nation to come in and try to kill him it'd be messy. And as it stands, there's no such thing as a democratic election in Russia and I don't think anyone even knows where he is atm. I know many people said that the idea of that is extremely far-fetched and ridiculous, but he is absolutely insane and appears to have a will that stops at nothing until he gets what he wants. I've read somewhere men aged 18-60 in Ukraine are not allowed to leave the country. That would really be the end of it for him Every missile silo, fighter jet, gun barrel, weapons in general would be aimed at Russia if that happened and he knows it 'cause at that point, he's no longer a threat to just former soviet nations and their neighbors, he's a threat to humanity as a whole.
