Chlorine 47,976
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden on Friday will nominate federal appeals court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, the White House said, making her the first Black woman selected to serve on a court that once declared her race unworthy of citizenship and endorsed segregation. In Jackson, Biden delivers on a campaign promise to make the historic appointment and to further diversify a court that was made up entirely of white men for almost two centuries. He has chosen an attorney who would be the high court’s first former public defender, though she also possesses the elite legal background of other justices. bionic 50,111
This would mean 4/9 of the Supreme Court are women Hopefully this will pass thru the Senate quickly, but I expect Moscow Mitch and the Republican crooks will try and drag this past the midterms

I think Bernie wanted her. Kruger was apparently decent, too, but Childs sucked.

jeremiahsaint1000 487
Can’t wait for natural selection to do its thing with the older reps lmao. Can’t believe so many Americans are still super conservative.

The Right has no grounds to say Ketanji is too Democratically left after appointing Amy. I can’t with this country anymore
Not The Real Gaga 7,582
As a non-American it's absolutely baffling to me that a President can nominate a Judge for such position and that's all about politics and even race and gender. Politics don't belong in court. So, yes, given how the American system works, this is a great, important and much needed choice... But still, in my believe, those things should be independent from each other in a well-functioning, normal democratic state.
