Idk let's see how it turns out eventually I guess. I'm so confused about that interview, they said it was an experimental concept album? But the concept is just that there is no cohesion, ie its just a random collection of unconnected songs. I kinda hate how when an artist can't decide on a certain sound or aesthetic they just slap the 'experimental' label on it. Like, let's just make something kinda messy and unpolished and they'll eat it up. I liked Saoko and I'm still excited to hear some of the other songs, but yeah she's really letting herself down. Pretty sad.
Arcadia 1,366
THIS is what THAT Magazine meant when they said MOTOMAMI was revolutionary and risk-taking? im at a loss of words, MotoMaMi so far has been nothing but dumb soulless sellout reggaetón, but make it gay and poppy

The album is 16 tracks, we’ve heard three so don’t be that quick to judge if it’s revolutionary or soulless reggaeton. Spoiler 2. I’m not even sure if I should share this lmao but **** it. I listened to the whole album. Chicken Teriyaki is bottom three for me. The highs are very high and there are several songs there that give EMQ a run for its money. The released songs are what she or her team consider to be hits I guess, but overall I think it’s a pretty solid album. I wish we would have got at least one of those tracks as an IG. I sincerely hope it ends up like this. I still have some hope but I won't pretend I'm enjoying what we've gotten so far or that I'm super excited for it. But this brings back some hype for sure. It is Spoiler From what’s left, there’s only two more that people will probably dislike: Candy and Bizcochito (I personally love this one because the melody is super catchy). Descriptions about my favorites: Spoiler Bulerias: this one is like putting Que No Salga La Luna, A Ningún Hombre and De Aquí No Sales in the blender. Had it been in EMQ, it would have been a top three track for me. Como Un G: a beautiful ballad, with very relatable lyrics. This will make me cry if it catches me unprepared. Diablo: this one is the James Blake collab. It’s amazing, it’s reggaeton but mixed with James Blake sound. Her vocals at times sound very distorted kinda like a chipmunk. I’m not sure how to describe this one lol but it’s experimental for sure and shits on the released tracks. Cuuuute: this will be for the Arca gays. It’s a whirlwind in the best way. Delirios de Grandeza: amazing vocals, amazing production. It’s a Danzón track. A definite standout for me.

Spoiler On Delirios de Grandeza, by the end, there’s a rap that features in the background kinda somewhere between a regular vocal and an adlib. I didn’t recognize the singer and tbh the voice didn’t sound too much like Frank but it may be him I didn’t recognize him in other tracks. Maybe he helped composition wise.
