We are finally seeing the end of covid (maybe) but now we will have to deal with a new Cold War between North America/Western Europe and Russia and her allies.

 

It’s not just people in power. It’s their people who are hungry for war as well. Trust me Putin couldn’t do this if he didn’t have millions on supporters who are just as hungry for a war. If people didn’t want to go to war they could do something about it, protest, refuse.. But like we see it’s not happening.

I think Donbass is just the beginning of the Russian revisionist incursion to repair Soviet losses of territory. It's clearly a masked invasion - and I'm only afraid that Putin has already decided to pursue his aim of total domination, having already assessed the weight of economic sanctions from the West. Belarus, and the "republics" of Donbass, are puppet states in the service of the dictator.

Please, don‘t start comparing this with WW2, as it only leads to more fear and terror. What is happening in Ukraine is terrible enough.

WW2 started for several reasons like Germany’s Invasion of Poland, but also Italy‘s Invasion of Abyssina, Spanish Civil War… The world was clearly in a different state.

I wasn't comparing it to WW2, I was comparing it to Hitler's behavior before WW2. I was clearly talking about situation in Europe. But as was said above - there are many other conflicts outside of Europe now.
