Queen Gloria 3,434
I refuse to watch it. I hate jumping on the bandwagon when something becomes hugely popular. I will also never, ever watch Game Of Thrones. I don't care when everyone and their great aunt is talking about it.

PawsUpJago 1,949
I truly hadn't been so captivated by a show in so long when I saw the first season, i think it's such a beautiful made show and I love its approach to telling a story in a more condensed amount of episodes. I almost with it was slightly less popular in a way because I think it attracts so much of the wrong type of attention that more often than not tends to cheapen it or cause it to be seen as some one-dimensional Riverdale level kinda show. I am happy for its success as it means there will be more seasons to come (hopefully not too many), but a lot of the fanbase I find to be so embarrassing, especially those that joined in the gap between season 1 and 2. To me it just feels inappropriate at best, and like pedo-bait at worst I mean, all of the actors are well over the age of eighteen and it's far from the first piece of media to depict teenagers having sex. And...I mean why shouldn't it? It's a very real reality of life that teenagers are by and large sexually active. If you're wishing to depict an accurate representation of high school life, especially when you're focusing on the darker side of life as a teen, pretending that it doesn't happen is disingenuous. I won't argue that it isn't at times gratuitous but it's almost not in service of the story being told either. Not to mention the sex is hardly titillating and neither is the depiction of drug use (not your point, but that's another aspect of the show that's been controversial). It's all played as intentionally disturbing which is where I don't completely understand the controversy this show stirs up. It doesn't glamorize what it deals with at all. It in fact makes it look just as ugly and disturbing as it actually is.

Honestly the writing, acting, aesthetics, etc. everything is really good. I remember watching this way back in 2019 so when the pandemic postponed shooting for Season 2 I knew this would get delayed a lot. It's been almost 3 years and it was time for us fans to see what would happen lol. I'm just glad there's a 3rd season and hope they end it in time. That's how they release all HBO Max streaming shows. 1 episode per week until the season ends and then it's all available. Like on yt, the teasers and beauty videos with the cast get millions of views. So many memes regarding to certain moments in the show go viral on twitter. At first I thought it was a Gen Z thing, but I've seen multiple older gen talk about the show and react to it as well. A couple of the songs from the soundtrack to this show has even entered Spotify Global Charts and that's very rare these days, especially for TV soundtrack. Anyways, I started watching the show with a few friends and I think its pretty solid. The aesthetic are literally to die for and the soundtrack in indeed fits very well. It gives very skins kinda vibes mixed with a bit of today's culture kinda vibes. Why do you think this show has connected very well with the GP? Because most of us are having similar breakdowns? I’ve been in a state of “on edge” since all this shi* began! 🤧😷 珈琲ちょうだい

Look, I get how unappealing it is to jump on the bandwagon and just blindly follow other people's tastes, and I sometimes dissociate myself from these projects too. I may watch it later, but I don't have to watch it now. But it doesn't mean that the writers/directors didn't put in the effort to make the show/movie good. I haven't seen Spider-Man but to "refuse to watch it because others are doing that" is a pretty problematic attitude, don't you think?

I was being a bit dramatic in my first post, I probably will check it out at some point. I just like to wait until hype dies down and eventually get around to it.
