The higher ur points in application the greater the chances of approval or shortened waiting list. But I still don't understand why more places aren't becoming urbanized with increasing populations and immigration. Canada, and the US, have so much open rural space. Everyone congregates in the bigger cities because that's where most of the jobs are, and then the job market is extremely competitive and the housing market booms to the point that many people can't afford to buy. Like... why can't we just spread out? We need companies to start diversifying their locations, especially with telecommunication and remote work being so standard now. There's no reason someone like Amazon needs 75,000 people in one HQ in Seattle when most of those people will never even work together and, if they do, it's often email / video call anyway. I understand there are perks to living in a city (nightlife, restaurants, etc.) so that can help with recruiting efforts. But that's not what every single person wants. Well many governments encourage density for economic efficiencies as well as environmental reasons (higher density means less land destroyed or used up in sprawl for habitation) Tho tbh i find the environemtal reasons a little... I dunno. Humans use up a very tiny percentage of the land. Its not even remotely one of the biggest reasons for the environemtal problems we have Between high greenhouse emissions, destructive farming practices that leech soils with chemicals and sometimes ruins them to the point its unusable and they gotta move on to farming in another large region... Large deforestation for resources whether its the wood itself or for stuff like mining... Dense cities vs a little sprawl, the impact that might have pails in comparison to the other big habits we have (in terms of land used up, but then u have to factor in that sprawl also causes more emissions cuz if longer transportation so to be fair theres also that) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
