It definitely blindsided me, but the work environment was getting continually more and more toxic and I was absolutley miserable to the point it started to affect my physical and mental health. 

Was the reason just? Absolutley not. His excuse was they're cutting back on staff and won't need my services anymore. If anything were are UNDERstaffed so it was a bullshit answer imo and I knew he didn't like me. 

He didn't even give me my final paycheck the day he fired me. Its taken him and our dumb blonde HR lady all week to process my check. 

Here in the state of California, that's illegal! I called him out on it and he was surprised I was having to school HIM on basic labor laws. I told him he was entitled to pay penalty fees for every day I didn't receive my check due to failure of payment. I made him pay me my sick time and overtime as well. 

This is not to sound prejudiced but he's an Israeli Jew and I've worked for Jewish bosses before and it's always been difficult dealing with them especially when it comes to payments. He cut corners, was extremely cheap, faked vaccine cards so he could go to MULTIPLE trade shows around the country, copies other artists work and doesn't give credit, etc etc etc...he was one of my top 3 worst bosses I've ever had to work for. 

It was reassuring to see ALL my coworkers were told about my firing yesterday during a staff meeting and many reached out in complete shock and disapproval. They're even willing to be references for me now that I have to look for work again soon. I'm just glad I'm free and don't have to give anymore of my time, energy, and resources to such a cruel person. I'm going on a MUCH needed vacation trip with my friends next weekend to de-stress.
