Yall don't laugh at me but this song is a freaking bop. And I hate that people tried to make it seem like a bad. Like in what world is this bad

Every song on ASIB was impressive in its own way, the ballads were obviously super impressive for the amount of vocals prowess gaga showed. but the pop songs were also impressive to me as it reminded me that no one makes a catchy pop song like gaga. That bass beat drop is so freaking good. And gaga sounded amazing per usual. It such a solid pop song that any other artist would probably score a hit on

i feel like we didnt get proper pop from gaga till the the cure WDYDT , HM , HBF. And i also feel like we havnt gotten them since then.( chromatica is to electro and dance for me at times).

Not just why did you do that but even

I feel like generally people appreciated heal me tho so i won't mention it.

I am so tired of this narrative that Why Did You Do That was meant to be a bad song :bear: Even Diane (who wrote it) said it was meant to represent a light and fun song, which Jack thought was shallow and caused that bathtub fight, it was never meant to be a bad song, or else Ally wouldn't have won a ****ing Grammy for it and her other "bad" music :air:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I'm sorry but I still think it is. It's just so basic lyrically and I get that it was supposed to be for the story so Jackson could criticise her song writing but it makes it unlistenable for me.

It's meant to upset Jackson, even though no one (not even Ally Maine and her manager) would purposefully write a bad song.

It's meant to critique the generic, bland commercial music that young pop stars do for fame I guess.

No one tried to do that. It was just used in the context to show how toxic Jackson is.

I kind of love that she sang the hell out of this, lol.

IA, it's a fun song, and illustrated how Jackson didn't like when Ally wasn't doing something reflective of him and his material. Like yeah, it's great when things have meaning and you have something to say, but what if you just want to have fun, and give others that same feeling?

It's weird but the theatrical version of the song was mixed and arranged better than the studio version

Same goes for Shallow...we're all still waiting for the trailer version cuz the single version ain't it...I said it

you can't make a hit pop song that it sounds bad, of course it sounds good, it's meant to be a "bop" and sound good to make you dance and sing along without really thinking or question anything, it's fast food made music, you think they would made french fries and burgers that taste bad? of course no, it wouldn't work, but it's still not good food or healthy food at all.
The same way that it is a bad song lyrically and even the production is so generic, it just feels prefabricated, nothing special, gaga said about the song something like "it's ready to serve for you to consume"

Of course you can enjoy this song, it's meant to be enjoyed, the same way people bop to the latest kim petras release because it hits hard even tho it's not anything special or creative, it's just fast food.
