I think this is actually the case, and, since I'm bored/bitter (etc) I would like to see Elon destroyed and cancelled. Companies that sell to ego driven customers can't really survive when what they're selling isn't cool any more, so this is something that could happen, especially with so much new competition in EVs. I don't mean that in a bad way, just in a way it would be entertaining to see him go down. Like holy hell, they just can't function without being racist. Even if it costs them vast sums, their reputation, etc. it's like breathing to them. If you look at the twitter thread a black employee already won a suit against Tesla for harassment based on race.
