You’ll flip the next time she is nominated and potentially wins

Just like with the VMAs and Grammys

Make this thread when Gaga gets nominated in the future. :saladga:

I’m so sick of people here downplaying the Oscar’s when the only reason why they’re doing it is because they’re mad that their fave didn’t get nominated. Y’all wouldn’t be doing this sh*t if Gaga was nominated.

GGD's logic when Gaga doesn't win/get nominated: they're overrated and don't mean **** :grr:

When Gaga wins: tabs  *proceeds to have a stan fight on Twitter, bragging about Gaga's 13 grammys*

PG.

Disagree... it's combination of many things.

The Oscars, like every single award in existence, are voted by humans and regardless the pedigree of the professionals voting in, human abilities are limited.

One does need money to get noticed.. (securing distribution, buzz etc.) but money isn't the start and end of it all. The voting bodies are not made up of super computers to data every production in the world and determine their quality.

Talent or artistic merit are also not the guarantee for the accolade, because art is subjective, it's not based on sterile logic, which takes us back to the human aspect, emotions play significant role, that is why narrative is also a contributing factor.

The Academy Awards is a Hollywood industry awards, it is not a film festival like the one in Cannes. It's plays out like a general election. and for its environment sake, it will always be a dance between the pretigious and the popular. If the Oscars contantly go to obscure but highly artistic Weerasethakul-Wong Kar Wai-Östlund-Audiard films soon the institution will meet its demise. On the flipside, If they opt for popcorn movies, small yet quixotic filmmakers won't get any incentive to express their artistic vision.

Like Be Kind Rewind once said about Glenn Close "Sometimes a performance isn't enough, sometimes a narrative isn't enough, it can be pure bad luck"

I think not going this route is more dignified for the fanbase as a whole, but we appreciate how much you care about Gaga! We do too

Can we make this the new GGD header until the Oscars are over? Like, it needs to be understood :vegas:

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

Assuming this is accurate and how Oscar noms are chosen in every instance, then:

1) Gaga’s best song Oscar was paid for

2) The studio that produced HOG only paid enough to buy the makeup and hair team a nomination

Wow, Gaga’s Academy Museum of Motion Pictures performance really paid off:trollga:
