Yes but 2 of her noms are from the music department, they are a different group to the acting branch. And standing ovations basically mean nothing nowadays. They gave standing ovations for almost every winner and performance in recent years, it wasn't like the 80s/90s.

While I do not believe she has as much respect from the film crowd as some other actresses, I still feel like there's general respect for Gaga even if the film twitter crowd clowns on her. Multiple respected actors/directors seem to have love for her: Campion, Schrader, Holland Taylor (GGD sees her as Sarah's gf, but she's an insanely respected theater actress), Sam Waterson, etc. Campion even mentioned Gaga twice. And the Oscar performance was definitely iconic with the GP, so I do not believe the Oscar crowd was completely immune to it.

But...I also suspect there's a bit of a "she's not a serious actress" type of mentality too. It's been mentioned in the past that allegedly a lot of people felt that way towards Cher and why Madonna missed out for Evita despite hitting most of the precursors and it being an Oscar baity role. I also think that might have been a factor in Balfe getting snubbed...people seeing Balfe as more of a model/soap opera esque type of actress (Outlander is kind of considered a high class soap opera). I mean, she hit all the same precursors as Gaga and had the benefit of being in a far better reviewed film that AMPAS loved...

TBH I was kind of surprised Gaga was nominated at the BAFTAs. Not only does the "top 2" voting system make it harder for actresses to get in, but they tend to be seen as much snobbier than the Oscars.

TLDR: there's a spectrum between complete disdain and being highly regarded by fellow actors. I also don't think she needs to go, either, as it's not like Gucci was nominated for a bunch of awards. Plus there's a chance the hosts-particularly Amy-might clown on her if she shows up as it's not uncommon for hosts to gently poke fun at people. I do think she should show for the BAFTA and SAG, although she has a good excuse (re: concerns about COVID) if she doesn't.

Unless she is going as a presenter, which may be a bit awkward given how much chatter is happening about her "snub," I don't see why she would attend. Maybe to support Freddie?

The only time she attended the Oscar's without a nomination in the past was to fulfill her obligations as a spokesperson for Versace. She was named their brand ambassador for the Spring/Summer of 2014, so she attended the Oscar's and after parties with Donatella. Gaga's first time attending the Oscars was for business, not for her art, which I have a feeling she wasn't thrilled about.

We have lots of awards and red carpet moments coming up for Gaga, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Oscar's isn't one of them.

She wasn;t feeling the red carpet because she knew her wig was f*cked and had to time to fixed it

It has been confirmed that 'Hair and Make up' category won't be televised at this year ceremony :madge:

I'm not really sure if she should attend, the producers of the show are desperate for ratings after the bomb of last year, they need Gaga more than Gaga needs of another nomination and Academy approval, considering she has other ceremonies to attend where she can shine and serving looks, I think she should skip them and not being used for ratings or appear like she needs their sympathy, and I don't see her pulling a Cher with 'Mask' with showing up over the top and throwing them shade at the ceremony.

I'm sure her not presence will make noise anyway.
