She has no reason for it. She should be proud of her work. It's just stupid people starting to drag her work cause of this.

Of course she should or can be proud!

But I think it's perfectly fine/normal to be a bit disappointed in private still... it's a valid feeling. (maybe she is, maybe she is not - who knows)

Well i just wanted the red carpet and watching her that night. One less thing to pay attention. Will see who won in the news, the day after.

Gaga did great no reason to be dragged by anyone. She should be proud of her work regardless of nominations. It would be wonderful having her there at Oscar's night, but she will go there again one day I'm sure.

I’m sure she’ll go all out for for the BAFTAs, I’m assuming she’s attending as she wasn’t able to during ASIB as it clashed with the Grammys

Not the bore worms!

this are MTE

what is going on? this is fishy!

The same thing happened to Amy Adams with Arrival, and that movie was better received than HOG.

Snubs happen every year, this time it just happened to Gaga.

I have to remind all of you that, for a singer turned actor second film, she was expected to flop hard and destroy her brand in Hollywood. One success could be a fluke, like many singers who tried their first time. But this time, despite no Oscar nomination, she brought the highest box office of drama films in two years, got 4 prestigious award nominations, and won NYFCC, the most prestigious critics group. THIS IS A WIN. Not perfect, but still a win. She will have no trouble landing big roles in the coming years

That's the most disappointing to me lol...i just wanted to see her there. But i think it doesn't make sense for her to go.

Oscars red carpet can suffer tbh. :bear:

If there is someone to blame, it should be Ridley Scott and MGM. Ridley clearly paid little attention to this project compared to his other one, The Last Duel. The film was not received well because of its directing, editing, and script. The only thing that's been feeding this film til now is Gaga's acting. Industry people understand it better than we do.

MGM is being greedy for wanting all of their 3 actresses to get nominated. This is not how you campaign for a category. SPC focus on Penelope Cruz, and they did it. Searchlight focuses on Jessica Chastain, Amazon focus on Nicole Kidman, and Neon on Kristen Stewart. Gaga has been doing her own campaigning since the movie got out, but that's not what works for the Academy members.

THERE IS A REASON WHY MGM HASN'T HAD A BEST ACTRESS WINNER IN 35 YEARS.

This is good, it will keep her hungry and not ever be complacent with her performing, a second film having to get a second best actress Oscar nomination is crazy, after all the other awards she has won as well! This is something incredible and she has knocked it out of the park for me, I never expected an Oscar nomination, she is a winner in my eyes and that's all I ever care about x

If I think probably one of the reasonswhy she did not get the nomination is because of all this "Russian accent" thing, that was started by her beloved fans (here?), that makes me a bit mad.

At the same time, if I think of scenarios like Patrizia getting interviews and stuff to talk about this (even though it didn't happen... Italians are becoming more and more discreet, I'm impressed), it's probably better to move on to another project lol

After the firt rage I'm now starting to feel that this snub has something good in it. Better this than getting the hate for a nomination with 0 chances of winning-

She now has the sympathy of the GP on her side

This is not saying Gaga will be Cher, but Cher was at an extremely similar situation in the 80s. After her breakout success of Silkwood which earned her an Academy nomination, she went on to star in Mask. Mask earned her Cannes best actress, one of the most prestigious acting awards in the world. Also nominated at the Globe, she got snubbed at the Oscar and left people dumbfounded. The funniest part? The film received 1 nomination at the Academy: Hair and Makeup. Just like HoG.

Then we all know what happened. As long as Gaga keep trying, she will get there at some point. She may need a better script and a director that takes her project more seriously. But with that being said, this is just a beginning of her acting career.

I feel like this snub doesn't feel TOO awful...maybe because she already has an Oscar and she already is an Oscar nominated actress, so this wouldn't have been a new achievement for her necessarily...

That is wishful thinking. People who hate her will still hate her next time. There will be no right time for her to win, she's a too controversial figure. I mean, not even Streep is universally liked. However, I think is good for us to start thinking about her next project, or else we all go insane. :ladyhaha:
