Granted, the disjointed storytelling of the film did her character arc no favors either. Agree with all that. I think her line delivery is clunky here and there, and I blame the accent for that. I would guess that, for a native English speaker, having to try to deliver all your lines sounding like an Italian native speaker speaking English is a bit like trying to run the 1500m with lead in your boots. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but I agree it could have been better and could have made Gaga look better in the process. Nevertheless I thought she did great, and I still think she has a shot at the Oscar.
