I have mixed feelings on it. It's surrounding cultural, generational trauma and the responsibilities the youth finds projected and deemed "responsible" for taking on at an incredibly early age. The music is incredible, and has a beautiful storyline. Now, me, personally - I think the ending was way too weak in terms of the "forgiveness" from the antagonists' side and the resolution was very undeserving for the main character. 

BUT! For a Disney movie, it's very "progressive" in terms of status quo and the roles that can play in the family structure. Definitely give it a watch.
