Why am I not surprised that you made this thread. You keep setting up Gaga to be dragged and magically disappear when she’s nominated for awards :billie:

How did you expect House of Gucci to be nominated at directors and writers guilds when writing and direction is literally what it was criticised for?

And literally no one is expecting House of Gucci to be nominated for best picture.

Oh really?  I wonder who posted about HoG's BAFTA mentions? I post the news positive or bad. And I love House of Gucci, but we must know the news to not set ourselves up for disappointment.

Stop with these petty personal attacks.

And correction: PGA is PRODUCERS, not directors, with 10 nominees.

Oh please. You know that this thread was unnecessary because no  one was expecting HOG to be nominated at these guilds. You’re just doing this to stir things up. Didn’t you make the “Gaga’s best actress chances are over” thread? I see right through you.

It's one thing to choose to not follow awards season, and it's another to make false claims. Look at people's predictions here. HoG was consistently appearing:

Every single prediction I’ve read said that the 10th spot was a tie up between HOG and BTR and BTR had a significantly higher chance of getting in. The movie’s subject is literally tailor made for awards season. How do you expect a movie about a bunch of rich Italians to compete with a Lucille Ball biopic? She’s a legend in Hollywood.

Okay, thank you for your opinion.

But I'm only posting the news. I will do so on February 3rd when BAFTA nominees are announced, and Feb 8th, just like I posted the news about CCA, Golden Globes and SAG/BAFTA Longlists.

Stop thinking that when I post the results of awards precursors, I'm being negative towards Gaga. I supported HoG at the box office the moment it opened and bought multiple tickets. I don't need to be lectured on my support for Gaga.

I appreciate that you’re posting about these important precursors, but I would request you to do it in a less click-bait manner. That’s all I’m asking for.

Hope this serves to cool things down, I think lots of people here still think she will get an oscar for both movie and best actress :huntyga:

She could in no way "get an Oscar for the movie" because is not and never was credited as a producer for the film. An Oscar for best actress is very much still a real possibility an her nomination is extremely likely at this point. The movie ever being nominated for more than Gaga's performance was never considered by most.

House of Gucci is definitely nowhere near getting the Best Picture nomination, so this isn't surprising. I don't think this will diminish Gaga's chances of getting a Best Actress nomination.

I'm just glad people like Gaga's performance across the board really. Even me as a stan thought her acting was a little off at points so I'm happy it worked for public and critics alike :)

HOG never deserved a nom for best picture let's be honest

Came here to say what everyone has already said.  These guilds weren’t expected to nom HOG, especially not the writers or directors guilds!  There was a very outside chance at best picture because the movie has been so well recognize by the public and made so much money, but no one was expecting it. Gaga’s overperformance with her own nominations so far is the strongest indicator that she will be nominated for an Oscar. The writers guild and the directors guild don’t matter at all for her chances.
