Apparently he did it toĀ protect himself and his family.. I don’t know how I’d react in that situation so I can’t really blame anyone but it’s awful what they did to these people. I read her diary long time ago and I’m still not okay when I think about her and her family. So sad.Ā

Note that this research and its conclusionĀ are controversial among other experts. There is no hard proof; it's just a theory.Ā

And even sadder when you remember that she wasĀ just one of millions to whom this happened.

Exactly. Horrendous crime agains millions of people. I can only imagine how many girl, boys and older people had similar experiences to hers.Ā

It's so strange, I live right next across her house and walk past the former house (now a museum) every day. Still such a shame that we as humans have let this happen.

Wow! I wanted to visit the house and almost did when I was living in the Netherlands for 6 months but the line was so long that I didn’t have time to wait there. I realised after that I should have just buy the tickets online.Ā :koons:

I hope we will learn from the history and never let this happen again. Except… some groups of people are still persecuted and killed to this day.Ā

Take a look at Russia for instance. Their governmentĀ have clearly not learned their lesson from the past as they continue punishing their LGBTQ+ Ā community and are preparing for a war against Ukraine… and for what!? I don’t get it.Ā
