Maybe I'm wrong but I feel people focus too much on death statistics and not enough on long-term impact statistics? I feel like I don't hear anything about long COVID anymore in media even though first person accounts make it clear its a real and persistent thing. World governments abandoning responsibility is selfish

I’ve been trying to do some healthy things throughout the pandemic, although it’s been tricky to stay motivated. But I have tried to keep up with vitamin D supplements and some good greens. I think it helped - I live in Europe and tested positive a couple of weeks ago. It was extremely mild for me, thankfully. I hadn’t had the booster, just x2 Moderna back in June/July. 
It wasn’t even a full on “cold”, just a slight sore throat, some coughing and sniffles. I’m presuming it was OmiCon because it was so mild - stay safe everyone and listen to your body. Lots of fluids helped!

More like more than half of the world. My sister is a nurse and specialized in ICU wards for a good 20 years. She agrees that COVID is going to be one of those diseases that 90% of the population will get not; not if they get it but when they get it much like your friend said @Anderson123

I'm honestly so mad at the people who refuse to get vaxxed...this sh*t mutates in part and gets new variants because of them.

Also I'm f*cking sick of working online. I know some people love it, but I don't.  I want to live a normal life again and be able to go into movie theaters without worrying....

Hell, I've even stopped going to the movies even though I 'm boosted and vaxxed as stupid Omnicorn is so contagious

This is how I feel too. And then we get people talking about how "only the vulnerable" are at risk, when huge amounts of people getting covid and potentially experiencing long-term effects basically creates more vulnerable people, and then the governments and fellow citizens seem fine to write them off... ugh.

I dont think the mutating of the virus is the fault of the unvaxxinated this is just how viruses behave

Because we can't just keep going into lockdown everytime a new variant comes lol

Everybody is over it and aren't going to keep following it, and frankly the world's supply chains and economy can't withstand lockdown after lockdown.

At some point we're going to have to just let people decide for themselves and if they choose to not get vaccinated that's on them, they can risk their lives.

The rest of us doing our part and what we should shouldn't have to keep putting our lives on hold though due to the selfish assholes out there.

I don't think looking at the long-term effects is a good indicator for current policy. Many diseases have long-term consequences; the healthcare system should be able to deal with that.

But what do you want to do... lockdowns forever? 'Cause there always will be people who - unfortunately - will get the long-term effects.

Yes, good point. That's also worth nothing. The impact lockdowns have had on people's mental health, overall wellbeing, and children's development is another reason for why we can't keep pushing lockdowns everytime there's a new variant.

There will always be a new one as quite frankly COVID is a lifeform and isn't going to stop mutating. Sadly, this is with us for the long-haul and we're going to have think long and hard as a society about what we're going to do about that reality and if we're really going to risk even worse consequences by lockdowning things every time that happens.
