Except vaccines aren't made to kill the virus and stop people from getting infected at all. They're made to decrease hospitalization and death rates. Literally no one could have ended this pandemic 2 yeaes ago. That's not how viruses function. A pandemic of this scale doesn't just end overnight. Did they f*ck up in some things? For sure, everyone did and denying that is also wrong. But what you're saying, whether you're vaccinated or not, is straight up misinformed and false.

Exactly. Thanks for proving my point. 2 years ago the pandemic was not of this scale (it wasn’t even a pandemic yet) but in a handful of countries. I honestly can’t believe you’re justifying the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. Those lives matter.

It's not really about not hurting their feelings, rather about convincing as many of them as possible to get vaccinated in everybody's best interest.

The third dose was open to young people recently in France and when I got it some people were there but not for their third one. If people joined us super late I assume others still could no?

And since we already have a 91% cover here it means we could really get close of a full cover by convincing others instead of keeping them obtuse with a string of counter-productive digs.

Macron said he wants to piss off the unvaccinated, not "the French". In English, at least the way this is translated, this reads like Retailleau and Jacob think they represent the majority, which they don't. This struck me as similar to how American right-wingers frequently speak of themselves, though they are also a minority.

They won't get convinced, most of the few people left aren't scared or uneducated. They're purposefully blind about science and/or not vaccinated as a political stance.

I can assure you there are still people buying the " we're cobaye by default" thing and they're not faking it. People just telling them they play dumb will not convince them for sure.

These few people are nearly a tenth of the population and if we had new people just starting to get their first dose all along the pandemic why would have it stopped now? And can we be sure there's only "unwinnable" folks left?

If some do it as a political stance then he should not makes comments like that cause he's boosting it if anything, not bringing any of them on the othet side.
