Apple has reached yet another major milestone. The iPhone maker topped a market value of $3 trillion Monday — the first publicly traded company ever to be worth that much.

Shares of Apple (AAPL) were briefly up about 3% to a new all-time high of $182.88, surpassing the $182.85 per share it needed to be worth $3 trillion. The stock later pulled back from that level.

Apple's market value first crossed the $1 trillion threshold in August 2018 and passed $2 trillion in August 2020.

Apple shares were up nearly 35% in 2021. Apple devices sales surged nearly 30% to more than $83 billion in Apple's fall quarter, which ended in September. The company has a whopping $191 billion in cash as well.

But before long, Apple may have some company in the $3 trillion club. Microsoft (MSFT) is now worth about $2.5 trillion and Google owner Alphabet's(GOOGL) market value is right around $2 trillion. Still giant but further behind are Amazon (AMZN), which has a market cap of $1.7 trillion, and Elon Musk's Tesla (TSLA), worth about $1.2 trillion.

They deserve it - their products have literally changed the way we live.

BUT we need to start holding them accountable for looking the other way with where and how they make their products. Tim Cook is slowly caving to all of China's demands and looking the other way with human rights issues. A manufacturing plant in India just got caught with a bunch of labor violations and inhumane conditions. Apple seems to have no problem keeping on top of everything else EXCEPT for human rights and labor.

They don't look the other way. They specifically look for ways to make their products as cheap as possible, without any regard for what that comes with it. That is why they don't even make their products in the US. They ship parts from the US to be built outside and then return to the US for sale. They know perfectly well what they're doing. They're the Nestlé of IT.

Economy

As an investor that follows markets and Corps im gonna say Apples price gauging is absolutely disgusting

Many ppl assume that all big Corps are drowning in money and thats not necessairily true. A typical listed Corporation only makes 5% to 10% of revenue in profit (many lower and some operateat a loss or just vreak even). It can be a lot of money in total from our perspectivd because of their sheer size but the profit per item does not reflect the idea they are all price gauging us. Competition sometimes actually works if there isnt a clear monopoly. The extreme wealth gap is to a greater degree the poor taxation on wealthy individuals themselves not the companies themselves but thats another discussion for another time as it kinda goes off topic

However Apple as had quarters with profit margins as high as 30% of revenue or over triple the amount of a typical healthy performing Corp

Even Canadian Banks which have unusually high profit margins as an industry dont typically surpass the 20s percentiles

They literally are just milking it :toofunny:
