Also like you said, everyone was still listening to Save Your Tears and Blinding Lights would not die so this song was largely ignored. Take My Breath was no worse than Blinding Lights… both are shimmery, Max Martin produced synthpop bangers. It was more than likely halted because of the delays in vinyl manufacturing. He turned the album in back in September of 2021 and has already filmed music videos and a short film for it, so it's unlikely that any reception to "Take My Breath" would have influenced any choices made with the rollout. He's been dropping collabs to keep fans fed in the meantime. He's already working on another album that will be a companion piece to his new show on HBO.
