Artists with a possible shot for acting career?

With more and more artists and musicians attempting to find a different path away from music, I was curious on asking who you think could have a shot at the film industry and who you’d like to see take on roles.

I feel like Rina could have a pretty decent chance at being a long term actress. Ridiculous as it sounds I also kinda feel like Doja could be a good comedic actor too.

I feel like Ariana may pursue this in a more serious and constant way in the future given her background + her future Wicked movie.

Cardi B was considered for a role in a Nanny Reboot, obvs didn't happen but can see her trying more comedic roles.

I feel like if Riri can go "boom" and make it a role, I'd love to see Florence Welsh slowly turn around for a scene and then just go OOHHHHHHHHH for a 23 second long note and destroy everyone.

I’m not sure if Billie has a theatre background, but in just one SNL episode I can sense that her capacity for different characters and comedic timing exceeds that of Ariana by a mile.

Here's the real question: why would musicians want to steer away from music and into acting? Is it a money issue, where touring is extremely time-consuming/tiring and also pays less than staring in a blockbuster flick? Because ultimately they end up with less ownership over the work than when they write/compose/produce music so I'm curious what the benefit of it is. Also arguably musicians now are a lot more famous than actors (like Ariana as a singer is a lot more famous than she was when she was just an actress, and if you compare the fame of like Madonna to that of another famous actress her age chances are she's more famous and also more rich). So really interested in why people want to make the switch, what is the gain from becoming an actor? Is it that you don't need to constantly create music and have good reviews for it, which can be exhausting?

They probably just want to try different things. Going through the redundant record an album, promote, tour, record an album, promote, tour, must become boring at some point. It's a nice break in a musician's career I guess

I mean with Asib didn't Gaga basically do a global promotion tour anyway? I guess it's less tiring on the vocals though but ultimately there's still a lot of travel involved. Maybe they want EGOT?

Dua have a movie with Henry Cavill coming this 2022.

I can see her becoming the first female 007 also.

They would never cast a pop star as 007. Too uncertain. They need someone they can lock into a 10 year contract and get guaranteed ticket sales from.

Single handedly tarnished all performers in the process so now everyone's ASTONISHED when a musician (who is trained in performing arts INCLUDING acting) can act.

Literally her acting failure overshadowed Cher, Barbra etc in one swoop!

I was thinking more of Broadway stars who started out as singers... but since you mention it...

The answer is....

Judy Garland.
