I just watched Don’t Look Up on Netflix last night and really loved it! Ariana’s role was super funny imo and I’ve been listening to her song in it Just Look Up all day. It’s a bop, but the lyrics are hilarious. Her singing “get your head out of your a$$” and “sh!tbox news” then nonchalantly vocalizing like how she does in all of her songs is sending me :nooo:

I watched it last night, also thought that part of the song was hilarious. It started out normal-ish and then took that turn lmao

It was really odd. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant film. But it wasn't funny enough to laugh, but it was humorous enough to acknowledge the funny moments. It's not for everyone but I tend to like intellectual humor.

Literally THIS. So so soooo spot on. Darker and dryer humor than expected, but not mad about it.

I actually thought Ari’s performance was a little wooden. To be fair they didn’t give her much to work with but still, for me the whole Ari/Kid Cudi story could’ve been chopped. Timothee’s character was also completely useless. It honestly felt like they just created some of these characters to advertise the movie as being full of big names.

I actually liked that some of the roles were thin! I thought it made the movie cheekier with these minor yet huge characters.

I started it but couldn’t get into it. I feel like when a bunch of A-Listers are packed in something it kinda distracts from it. All the actors have been great in other films though.

Loved the satirical side of it all. Cuz it's dead right of how we live right now.

But other than that, a weird slow movie. Had it's funny parts but I guess it did it's characters right, hated the ones I needed fo hate.

** spoilers **

Watching it a 2nd time. Sarcastically satiracally kind of funny for a spoof and metaphor for climate change. The just look up/ don't look up arguments. :fan: Loved the credits scene where the spaceship lands on a planet far far away and the President and others walk out naked and get attacked by big dino-birds. 22,000 years of space travel just to die the first day on a new planet as an invasive specie.

Seeing Ariana singing that funny sh!t was for me the best part of that movie.

I enjoyed the film it has plenty of metaphors to do with climate change and how humanity can’t come together during a pandemic. It just needed to be funnier, like the comedy didn’t land.

The movie was an understated screwball comedy of a mix genre variety. But it had soul and was more interested in the seriousness of it's message and that made it so endearing. I hope you all see it and think about how in each of our own individual outputs we can either pursue an ego centric corruption, or we can elevate and empower the people we need to, to counter the catastrophic problems were facing. My only critique from a plot hole point of view, is that it's unbelieveable to think only the U.S would stand up to the challenge and call of the danger that comet posed. Maybe that hole is a part if it's thought process.

Anyway I had an unexpected good time. I flicked it on, saw it was like more than 2 and a quarter hours, and was ready to turn it straight off when the bored process sunk in. But it's wonderfully made.
