Let’s say Gaga’s next era is a return to a 70s sound. Which popular 70s genre would you want her to do?

Soft rock / Pop: songs like Dreams (Fleetwood Mac), Your Song (Elton John), You’ve Got A Friend (Carol King)

Soul: September (Earth, Wind & Fire), Superstitious (Stevie Wonder), Good Times (Chic)

Rock: Barracuda (Heart), Carry On Wayward Son (Kansas), We Are the Champions (Queen)

no FUNK?

:neyde:

Funk and soul of the 70s usually overlap, if you want funk you could vote soul (since artists like Chic and Stevie Wonder do funk as well)

She has Glam Rock written all over her.

I loved the early Babylon demo with "Fame" Bowie sample.

It would be so great if her next project brought her vocals back to the more unique sound of her early demos ala Fancy Pants, Dirty Ice Cream, etc

Probably metal

I usually attribute Metal with the 80s since my mind goes to thrash bands like Anthrax and Metallica

My mind goes back to Ozzy and Black Sabbath.  But I'm into the more recent symphonic metal now, like Nightwish.  Gaga would slay as lead singer like Tarja or Floor.  But that's not 70s, tho.

I think Gaga has the vocal talent to sing with Nightwish.  Imagine Gaga singing Floor's part in this breathtaking performance:

Yes, my answer to the OP is Metal.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Please, no more retro/nostalgia pop music. It's absolutely been done to death. Take us to the future!

Yeah...it would require Gaga to want to creatively push herself even further and her label to allow her to put out a futuristic experimental album...a hybrid of BTW/ARTPOP ACT II

I'm thinking Aura Demo, Heavy Metal Lover, Dance in the Dark, Alice kinda songs. She thrives in her dark album concepts

Thank you for avoiding the question :bear: I wouldn’t mind a more forward thinking album, don’t get me wrong (I’m open to a lot from Gaga) but this thread is about 70s music
