Can we please stop acting like she’d be getting any awards if her mom wasn’t Beyoncé? Like the extreme privilege & nepotism of rich people is sickening. I’m sure when she turns 20 & releases an album she’ll go on & on about how self made she is 🙄 the good thing that comes from bs like this though is that the lie “anyone can make it” bubble has been popped. Seriously look at any famous person today, they all come from money & privilege. Even Gaga despite how hard she tries to push the “I came from nothing” lie.

Yeah that one bugs me a lot. She clearly came from upper middle class in the neighbourhood and house she was in

She had piano lessons payed for, and a grand piano bough for her. Yes her parents may have taken installments but being well off doesnt mean u always have cash on hand for every major purchase and never finance it

And didnt her parents help her with her rent for a period of time?

So yeah, when she makes it sound like she came from a modest upbringing it rubs me the wrong way cuz it feels disengenuous

Exactly. I cringe so hard whenever I hear earlier interviews now that I know her upbringing. Not to mention she had Christina Aguilera’s VOCAL COACH teaching her how to sing yet people on this site still think “nah, she made her own way, no privilege whatsoever” ffs Gaga grew up living in a 2 story condo on the upper west side of MANHATTAN where she also attended an all-girls PRIVATE school with the likes of Paris Hilton… that isn’t “upper middle” class & it’s DEFINITELY not middle class. That’s rich. Like I get why celebs actively remove the little detail about money from their rise to fame, the GP tend to think mentioning money is bragging & say it’s just another rich person buying their way in so yeah I get why Gaga, Ariana, Taylor, & literally any other celeb tweaks reality a bit but to continue perpetuating this false narrative where only the most “hard working, creative people” become famous is SO destructive cause it only instills the logic that if you’re not famous then you just weren’t *meant* to be, you just aren’t a good enough artist & thats bs. 99% of famous people are only famous because of money & the connections they had to get their foot in the door.

@MonsterofFame in response to what you said… yeah just read up on her story babes, that’s all

You still don't seem to get it like the other person. I am not denying that she wasn't raised in a family with money. But that money did nothing to help her music career. If I had Xtina's vocal coach that doesn't mean I am going to be a good singer and it certainly doesn't mean I am likely to become famous on any level. Also, even if Gaga's family used their money to help her career, it doesn't mean it would work. How many times have we seen industry plants or other celebs try to crack the music business but go nowhere?

If money could buy a music career then Heidi Montag, Kim Kardashian, Rebecca Black, Bonnie McKee, Tinashe, Logan Paul, Kris Jenner, and plenty of others with tons of money and even existing fame would LOVE to speak with you right now for your advice.
