That photo of Blue wearing a crown while drinking out of her Grammy award is so... tacky :madge:

I really don't think this is a great way for a child to be raised in the music industry, with two powerful parents like Bey and Jay force-feeding her ego with all these awards and sh*t.

...Countdown to certain GGD members swooping in and calling me racist for even DARING to criticize their fave :partysick:

I’m sorry to be the ‘party pooper’ but I don’t understand why people think it’s OK that celebrities use their children and teens for these kind of things? This is kind of an issue to me, some children (especially those from celebs) are being used for commercial purposes and I find it rather problematic. A good example of this was a documentary which gave an insight of these children’s lives, especially from parents making videos from their children. They’re basically being used for sponsorships with toy brands in order to cash in and you could genuinely tell that the children were unhappy, and didn’t want to make the videos, but they were forced to be on camera and sell a product, because their parents forced them to do so. I’m starting to notice a pattern.

In my home country, a reality TV show which is based around a family moving to France was forced to stop using their child in their show as it was breaking child labour laws. The child in question got too much screen time, it was working too much and it is found to be unhealthy by the minister of social affairs and work. I find it problematic, because we’ve collectively came to the agreement as a society that child labour is not okay - and it should not be normalised. And now, we find it okay that young children, from a very young age are on the television and being used as a prop. And we know, from the experiences of current celebrities which grew up in the limelight, that it usually affects their mental health quite badly.

I know that some people will take my words out of context, especially as it might be targeted to their favourite artist, but it’s not necessarily only in the case of Blue Ivy. It can also be considered of most of the Kardashians and Jenners, especially with North West. It feels like they are in an environment where they are growing up to be a celebrity, to become famous, while I don’t believe that most children actually want to become famous and that it’s a very, very toxic place to be in.

Can we please stop acting like she’d be getting any awards if her mom wasn’t Beyoncé? Like the extreme privilege & nepotism of rich people is sickening. I’m sure when she turns 20 & releases an album she’ll go on & on about how self made she is 🙄 the good thing that comes from bs like this though is that the lie “anyone can make it” bubble has been popped. Seriously look at any famous person today, they all come from money & privilege. Even Gaga despite how hard she tries to push the “I came from nothing” lie.

well according to people backstage, this isn't the case for Blue. She seems to enjoy all these things and always ask to her mother if she can be on the video and stuff (that's what directors, crew peple have said)
