for a site full of gays the stigma around cosmetic procedures is astonishing. botox and fillers are completely harmless ways of improving your appearance and its seen as the spawn of satan.

"Improving your appearance" :wtf:

Let's not glorify plastic surgery please. And, it's not harmless. It causes permanent changes in your face even if they get dissolved.

The cosmetic industry profits off of insecurities and low self-esteem. The more people promote it and make it seem like a good thing, the less confidence people have in their natural beautiful bodies, the more they'll want procedures.

Not y’all complaining about Botox but stanning you’re queen when she’s full of fillers :enigma: gotta love GGD

They literally make fun of her fillers every other day. Probably more than other artists.

Gaga? Lol even Ariana has been doing it since her early 20s. It’s literally the most common thing in Hollywood.

I understand her humor here. However, our youth obsessed culture is problematic with Botox. I’m disturbed by the normalization of it and the implication that our bodies are flawed; in need of even minor “tweaking”  I see it in ads all the time.

I say this, too, as someone who loves the born this way message, but sees people who espouse that engaging in behaviors far from it. Also, as a therapist, I hear lots of body image comments — even if ever so slight.

It really is a privilege to age and to do so without the pressures of social norms. I’m giving it my best go as I make my way through my 30s.

Edit: Another trend we see with beauty is collagen in everything. Don’t be fooled by this marketing ploy. Our bodies naturally produce it and slowly stop producing it, rendering these supplements ineffective. (As far as I know).

Guys the only reason celebrities "have always looked good" and look like they "don't need botox" is because they keep on having work done on them to varying degrees. Do you really think J Lo looks how she does at 52 because of "good diet and exercise"? :huntyga:

And don't even get me started on Gaga - she definitely got some serious work done just before the Joanne era started. I mean just comare her 2016 Goldern Globe face (the year she won for AHS)  to her 2015 Met Gala face. And in my opinion Gaga now has much more of a "hollywood friendly" face now than compared to pre Joanne. Not really saying that its right or wrong but just pointing out that its really common in Hollywood.
