I get why you would say England isn't part of Northern Europe, however you have to keep in mind there is no universally accepted defition of what constitutes N Europe. The British Isles are north of Europe's main  landmass and much further north than places you would consider to be Central European such as Bavaria, Austria, Czechia etc. It makes sense why they would be reffered to as Northern.

In fact, you cannot positively say what countries are part of Western, Eastern and Southern Europe/ the Balkans either. It's very arbitrary and depends on what country you live in, socio-economic factors etc.
