More Americans voted for Hillary than Trump in 2016 and he tried to destroy the government in 2020 to maintain power. He isn't going to win 2024. However, if Republicans win in 2022 then he will be president in 2024 even when he loses. A large number of Republicans positively responded to the January 6th attack and want the country to become a Fascist regime. Tucker Carlson has been prepping the base for awhile now. So to answer your question, I don't think Trump is winning regardless. However, if Republicans gain enough seats in the house they will overthrow the election and install Trump. Trump has slowly been weeding out people in state governments and house of representatives that were in the way of him overthrowing the election in 2020. Right now the republican house of representatives are already saying they will install Trump as Speaker of the House if they win in 2022. Where they undoubtedly will impeach Biden. I still think Trump is using strategic incompetence in order to one up his opponents when least expecting. He’s an imbecile but America is full of those and he represents all the dark parts of themselves they suppress. I still see and hear people all around Tennessee talking about how they miss Trump and how he’s going to win again. Even though he’s the same president that told people to ingest or inject themselves with bleach at the beginning of a global pandemic. It’s quite baffling honestly. I lived in Tennessee from 2017 to earlier this year. It is way more MAGAland than the rest of the country. Looking at their voting record they are deeply conservative. It is like a cult in many areas. I recall standing in line to vote while wearing a mask. I was the only one wearing a mask so people screeched at me to stay away from the Biden voter. I had a lady harrass and stalk me at a gas station telling me how I deserve to burn in hell because "I walked gay". My manager during the pandemic would complain about how she feels like Rosa Parks because she had to wear a mask in Walmart. I was invited to a party by some coworkers and I respectfully disagreed with a Trump supporter and was asked to leave because I didn't support him. The person who invited me had to tell someone else that 'I was a libtard who didn't know what he was talking about' to try and calm them down as someone was trying to fight me because I referred to Trump as a reality TV gameshow host. I can see either of them winning basically by extremely small margins on either side. The cards are in the Democrats hands currently. They have an option to either continue down the Biden path, or he can step down and let someone else take the reigns and the Dems can primary. There is no doubt in my mind that trump will run again. With all the legal trouble that he's in, the only way he can actually save himself is by abusing the oval office. His ego is too big to let someone else take the republican party and bail him out, so unless he ends up in prison or is too ill to run, he will 100% run in 2024 against whoever the Dems decide to go with. After Covid and the Insurrection, he’s toast with independent voters. And while he has fervent supporters, him being the nominee would equally galvanize the left. A different Republican could potentially win. But it’s difficult to unseat a sitting president, so the country would have to be in a particularly bad place in 2024. Him being the nominee didn't galvanize the left enough to give Hilary the win in 2016, and even the 2020 election was not as much of a blowout as some had anticipated. It took a couple days before we knew if Biden would clinch the victory. Polling shows that the majority of the Republican Party is still behind Trump, and the electoral college advantages Republicans. Progressives now understand how motivated his base is and moreover they know just how horrible a Trump presidency can be. They know voter turnout needs to be high to beat him. The battleground states are rarely landslides, and the reason it took days in 2020 was due to the unprecedented role of mail-in ballots. For as screwed up as our electoral system is, the 2020 presidential election was a strong rebuke against Trump all things considered. And that was pre-Insurrection!
