But besides that…if the Democratic Party doesn’t change their candidate, Donald Trump will win. And no…Trump has not formally announced a run, but just last week on Fox & Friends he told them he had already “hired teams to begin the process” aka…he clearly would like to run again and has intentions too. I also don’t want everyone to mistake my OP…I do usually get it right at a certain point…and at this point I see a clear path for another Trump victory. But… that is NOT to say that cannot be changed if the DEMOCRATS are willing to change. That was the point of my OP…not to create “doom and gloom”…but send a red ff****ing flag to all these indifferent liberals. We can defeat Trump. But we have to take a big risk. In other words…playing it safe is actually not playing it safe at all in 2024. It is the year that Democrats have to finally take the leap and do what they’ve been whispering about since the 70s: admit socialism works a little bit, and it’s time to introduce it to a very out of control post modern capitalism. Otherwise the Democrats mine as well call themselves the colorful dead ends of a hair style that used to be in fashion. Nah I've been following politics daily since 2008. It reads like you blindly follow social/mainstream media without applying critical thinking. The reality is that this is the biggest economic recovery in 30+ years. Also gas fell close to 50 cents where I live in the past 3 weeks. I've been following Biden's and other world leaders meetings and negotiations about boosting oil production to lower the prices of oil barrels with OPEC. Not too mention I work retail and am keenly aware of supply chain issues. Or how we and a lot of other local retailers had to throw out tons of turkeys because the media said there were going to be turkey shortages this year which never happened. While you hear about the problem, you never hear how Biden responds to the criticism such as the record number of Afghani refugees we took in from the war withdrawal. Or how he has improved immigration. Or how trans people can now enter the military again. Or how gay people are protected in the work place. Or the end of the Muslim immigration ban. Or the end of intentional family separation at the border. Or opening up more ports and extending hours to improve supply chain issues. Or major investments in off shore wind farms to transition to renewable energy sources. The Washington Post did an article recently showing how the media ecosystem has made inflation, gas prices and immigration into as big and dangerous of an issue as Trump lying about a deadly pandemic, holding superspreader events, intentionally sending militarized forces against citizens on BLM plaza, trying to overthrow the election, Qanon cult nonsense, etc. So no its not me reading off some sort of Biden website I agree with you that Trump is a real threat in 2024. Just not because of the reasons you indicate. Matt Gaetz is promising to install Trump as Speaker of the House in 2022. Trump and his supporters have already ousted 2/8 Republicans that voted to impeach him earlier this year. He is endorsing credible challengers to those who refused to overthrow the election results last year to replace them with those that will overthrow election results for his favor. His base still thinks the election was stolen from him and the January 6th attack was only the beginning not the end. They are still fired up about it. Also due to the electoral college this country is center-right. Going too far left as you are indicating will not go over well with the American electorate. There's a reason why the only Democrats that win president are conservative ones like Bill or ones like Obama and Biden that promise to be centrists working with Republicans to get things done. You can already see in approval numbers that it is the American suburbs that swung to Democrats in 208 and 2020 are now swinging to Republicans. Finally, you seem to put all the blame on Biden/Democrats for not getting certain things done. However, you ignore the reality of Congress and how two senators, Sinema and Manchin, are blocking all progress for Democrats. Biden's BBB plan is ambitious and bold like you are talking about but 2 democrat senators are blocking most everything because corporations are paying them tons of money. However, don't take this all from me here are a few links: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2022/01/january-6-insurrection-trump-coup-2024-election/620843/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/12/03/biden-media-coverage-worse-trump-favorable/

MACATL 2,128
Trump will never win a fair election, which is why republicans are doing everything in their power to limit voting access. If that is not successful, and republicans want the Whitehouse, I think they’ll have to eventually reject Trump.

There is a huge risk of recession by this point and whenever the economy is bad, the president is on the chopping block. If that happens, Trump is back in. 2021 is a manifestation of the Trump administration’s policies. It takes a little while for the current President’s policies to take effect. The Trump Administration was totally unprepared for the pandemic and maneuvered it poorly. That’s what led to the effects you see today (inflation, shortages, etc.). There is no risk of recession before year’s end or in 2022. However, I’ve read there is a good possibility of one in 2023 — and if it doesn’t happen, it’ll be worse when it happens later. We’re not gonna have a 10 year long bull market like we did in the 2010’s. 11 hours ago, HuffsAhoy said: Elitist Dems like you are the reason the party is dying. Even if you can’t afford a new car, you can get a junk car for dirt cheap, at least where I live. In Chicago, I’ve found old cars (like 2003 models) at high mileage (150,000 miles if not more) for less than $2,000! That’s how a lot of us broke young guys save money — we just keep buying cheap junk cars until they do not work anymore instead of buying new or moderately used. 😅 6 hours ago, ARTPOP said: Republicans are objectively a much better political party. They live up to their right wing conservative agenda. They do not give two sh*ts if it is a an extremist like Trump or more moderate republican. Yeah, you’re right. Republicans are generally much more consistent, and have been for 40 years. They may have a largely negative effect on the country when they are in power, but they stick by their word and keep their promises. It doesn’t matter if they’re not popular overseas or in half the country. They mostly give their voters what they want even if it’s destructive (which it almost always is). 6 hours ago, AnnaNicoleSmith said: Problem with democrats or left wings all over the world today is that they think it's still like old times and immigration control shouldn't be applied, borders still open, that u can still have jobs, that you should still neglect products made in the country and instead keep getting it from China or other countries far away, no Made in (country of origin), no laws passed to help manage terrorism, real threat but if you talk about it "racism", and if you talk about Covid and there needs to be innovation and u cant live forever with a QR code and lockdowns (anti-vaxxers). That's the problem, so then people like me who always voted Left, now I have to vote the right-wing, no choice. The left doesn't change with certain situations, they keep staying the same and it doesn't work. It just doesn't. This isn't the 60s where you can let your door be open, you gotta close it, look out, and get security guards or dogs, it's just hwo ti is and yet this is very taboo for democrats in general. They see everything as race or other adjectives, it's too dramatic. Not to say Trump is good, he's awful, awful awful, but for people who cant understand the surge of right wings, to me this just is logical!!!! You can't have a passive naive left wing run your country in this day and age, are you looking around you? Are u blind? Seriously... If the left can be a little more strict then maybe it would work out for them Yeah, a large plurality of Americans feel this way, myself included. The Neoliberal elite tend to flout globalization, free trade, relaxed immigration laws if not full blown open borders, tax cuts for rich people, subsidies, and deregulation as the only path towards prosperity and “economic growth” when in fact all they are doing is raping anyone who isn’t rich of their jobs, industries, and money and keeping them from moving up the economic ladder. At least Republicans recognize this! Only few Democrats acknowledge this and even when they do they tend to support relaxed immigration laws (Bernie, Warren, and The Squad) and have polarizing social views. What the average person doesn’t know is that fossil fuels are already subsidized by the federal government. The true cost of a gallon of petrol is about $15, and that is a very conservative estimate! I disagree on a number of things. First of all global shortages and inflation are effecting every nation in the world, not strictly an American problem that was caused or could be solved purely by the USA. Second of all, no Republicans are not that effective. They campaigned for like 10 years on removing the Affordable Care Act. Then when they had the chance they chickened out and McCain saved ACA from being tanked. The only real policy they accomplished was cutting taxes for rich people/corporations during 2016-2020. From congress anyway. Trump tried executive ordering his way through things but kept getting kneecapped by the Supreme Court. No Democrat that has won an election has campaigned on open borders. We need immigration for this country for labor as been apparent this year where fast food, farm work, etc. are hitting labor shortages and can't operate effectively. Also, no Democrats are not pro tax cuts for rich people. Look at the last major taxing cuts passed under Trump and Bush with Republican majorities. Those were complete give aways to the top 1% with nothing for regular people. Finally, I strongly suggest you read Biden's Made In America policy and programs when discussing globalization. I think there is a lot of nuance and as Democracies across the world are flat lining due to social media; globalization and building strong alliances is necessary. While the Elite Top 1% are in favor of everything you have stated. You are falling for social media misinformation that blames Liberals(neoliberals) and the left for policies that the Elite want passed. The Elite do lobby and spend tons of money making sure center-right and center-left politicians on both sides of the aisle never accomplish anything that jeopardizes their income and to maintain the status quo. If you go back and read the policies that Biden is advocating for and the policies that Sanders, the Squad, and Progressives want. There isn't as much difference as people would like for you to believe. Right now, my biggest concern is that we are in a place similar to the Weimer Republic in Germany after Hitler staged an unsuccessful coup and was put in jail. Based on every country that has dealt with an incident similar to January 6th, our government and democracy is running a strong risk of collapsing. We have even been placed under a global watch list for failing Democracies this year.

I voted for Warren in the primaries (I wish I had voted for Bernie instead since he was closer). I’m not even defending him, but look at it this way: The inflation, supply chain issues, and high death rate are all because of the Trump Administration’s failure to prepare for and maneuver the pandemic. It’s only natural that this is happening. If Congress were to pass a tax reform bill, it wouldn’t go into effect the year it passed — it would go into effect the following year. Biden can write as many executive orders as he wants but in politics it takes time to see the effects of policy, good or bad. Nothing is ever really “instant”.
