Why is there opposition to this? Millions have already died and tens of millions more lives are at stake. Do people want the Spanish Flu of 1918 to return, killing 17 million+? Bring back the camps I say, before it’s too late. The unvaxxed are actually willing to kill the planet and that is sickening.

This is not gonna change anything, unfortunately. I know quite a few unvaccinated people that can easily get fake cards. Also, a lot of security people really don't give a damn about controlling. Just the other day on my way home I saw barely any shop in the mall controlling people's vaccination status and letting people with no masks in. :saladga:

I believe there is opposition to this because the issue of restrictions for unvaccinated belongs with a broader realm of values that have been most prevalent causes of all sorts of turmoils and rejoices in the European society ever since the Reformation, I guess. It's about the public good, the common good, the personal freedoms and the accountability of your government.

It is most dangerous, from both, rhetorical and practical points of view, to assume that "antivaxers" and people who oppose restrictions of those who don't have vaccine are the same group. Apparently, there is a large number of people who believe that due to a strong difference between the death rate among vaccinated and unvaccinated people, the vaccinated people have nothing to fear once they are vaccinated, for, as they say, the chance of lethal virus contact for a vaccinated person is less than a chance of death by homicide. That's why they don't understand the reason for sacrificing so much freedom because of a group of people who for whatever reason are reluctant to get a vaccine shot, and rather propose different measures, like denying unvaccinated people admission to covid-related intensive therapy or hospitalization, so that the people who don't have a vaccine also don't become a burden for the healthcare system.

It sprouts from the fact that there is a group of people who'd prefer freedom over safety. Given the history of Europe, it's not too difficult to see where this is coming from: this continent has seen attempts to take away people's freedom for the sake of common security and safety, and it often ended up on tragic notes.
