Even though I support the vaccine and hope everyone gets it, it feels wrong to make it obligatory. Fining people so that they inject something into their body that they don't want, seems immoral.

i don't care what you say. any government mandating *anything* like this is tyrannical and authoritarian.

i'm double vaccinated, the government can push and advertise the vaccine as much as they want. but the flu vaccine isn't mandatory, vaccines for teenagers aren't mandatory... literally no other vaccine or medication is mandatory. exclude them from certain jobs, sure... in some workplaces like schools or hospitals being vaccinated is just the responsible thing to do. but people should be able to live in your country without this.

It is not immoral. 

 

Do you know what is immoral? Being irresponsible for others. Not giving a **** if someone will die because they can't get proper medical help because all the medical resources are pointed towards Covid patients.

Forcing people to get vaccines is immoral. Getting vaccines is good but force is never okay.

What’s immoral is for selfish people to keep us hostage with a never ending pandemic because they don’t want to get vaccinated. 

Healthcare systems are struggling because of them. 

If you care more about your individual rights than the rest of society then go live in the woods like a barbarian. 

If you live in a society, do your part in ending a pandemic that was upended our lives for far too long that it needed to with our modern technology.

I agree that it would be best if everyone is vaccinated. I also agree that vaccination is the responsible option, and I wish more people would see that. But I also think people should have final authority over their own body.

Yup, you are right. We should have final authority over our own bodies BUT in this case we would also be risking and putting others in danger too.

If you want to participate in a society, you have to agree to its rules-- especially the ones that are put in place to protect public health.

If you don't want to put a vaccine in your body and do your part in maintaining your community's health, then you shouldn't get to participate in it. I truly believe the unvaccinated should not be allowed to enter ANY spaces that belong to other people, especially the government, until they put their big-girl or big-boy pants on.

I'm not sure if this is a Greek thing but my grandparents are very stubborn but impressionable. You could easily convince them over a coffee that the vaccine is bad for you and they'd believe it. I think it's wrong to force people to take the vaccine, but I also think it's wrong to allow misinformation to kill people.
