I mean I like that they’re electric but I’ve never met a Tesla driver and been like “wow, that is a cool person!” I think that my negative view of Elon Musk may contribute a lot to shape that opinion. Actually they (and other EVs) catch fire at a much lower rate than cars based on the Internal Combustion Engine. It's just that the news jumps all over it every time they do (sensationalizing the event, seizing on fear of the new), while they ignore the commonplace ICE car fires.
